First upload screwed up somehow...
Professionals are quite strong at this game, but that doesnt mean they make some rather big mistakes!

Seeing stupid moves by pros could be very helpful in identifying your own "stupidity" (in the sense of thinking wrongly about a position). I vote for the new series.

The ability to detect crucial moves that can decide the entire game is so important and quite difficult to learn. So I vote for a new series!

I like you pro game reviews because I'm too lazy to check any myself (Unless it's Takemiya) and these ones expose us to different play styles than your usual one, still with your commentary & guidance. Happy to see more Pro Bloopers.

Hello Dwyrin, your videos are always excellent, providing knowledge and food for thought. In this particular instance, I would tend to disagree with your interpretation of M3. This move, which indeed looks cramped, and if it was thought necessary by B player, indicates that something went a bit wrong in the fuseki, cannot be a territorial move. Since the area is opened from above and from below (open skirt), at the same time, there are zero chances that black had territory in mind when playing M3. I believe he saw his wall and influence investment in the bottom right was under threat of being erased, and felt obliged to “play gote” by reinforcing the wall for future fighting. What convinces me to stick with this interpretation is that a fight did indeed happen in that Moyo space and turned out bad for white…

The most common follow up to the 3-3, unless they've been kept entirely enclosed, is for the 3-3er to attack said wall. Black did not want his wall to be attacked, and he wanted to pick up points from his bottom left. He likely felt that he was killing two birds with one stone, as the saying goes. The trouble is he overlooked the greater picture which both fineart and kata go agree is more important. Now yes, the fight there did turn out bad for white later in the game, but that's only because white over stayed his welcome. White tried to reduce too much, instead of take the win from his reduction. That white went down in flames however, does not make his 3rd line extend a good move when considering the better variations.

At the key position, I found a move adjacent to the proper move, rather than the move itself. So close! Great series, I look forward to many more.
