MCBubblegum Don't you EVER let anyone treat you like that. It's probably coming from a place of jealousy. Be a shining star, sparkle and show them all what you can do. So happy for you going en pointe, please let everyone know how it goes! 💕

Just keep dancing. It seems like you are--that's good. I have a channel where I do a dance a day. I'm not really in classes but I love it. I have had a chronic illness all my life that has made me lose and gain weight like crazy. Just love yourself and what you do. Also--just be passionate. If you have a passion for something---just go for it.

I know how it is to be seen as too big for ballet! I'm a size 3/4 and it's frustrating when others don't give you a chance just because of your size. Work hard and make sure you're doing a lot of rises to strengthen your ankles and just try your best on pointe. You've got this!

Two false things people tell a dancer: 1.) "Dance is not a sport." 2.) "Hip hop is way better exercise than ballet. Ballet is just twirling around. Ballet is easy."

Those people are uneducated. Ballet is not easy at all, not even close. It's an amazing and I would even say KEY mechanism that structures your body. I've done classes like breakdance and hip hop before, and the teachers always said that doing ballet made it easier for them to be able to move the way they did

All the dance styles require same amount of energy , passion and practice . What makes the difference is where and how we channelise it . I do both hip hop and contemporary ballet . Both are equally demanding .

Hey Teen Vogue, The video description is actually false; ABT Studio Company is the "trainee" (for lack of better term) company that consists of young dancers ages 16-20 whom are preparing for companies, this is very different than Isabella's job as a principal dancer in the main company (American Ballet Theatre). I hope that this helps. :)

It really annoys me when people find out that I do ballet and they're like "oh, you don't look like you dance", or just waddle in a circle with their arms hopelessly trying to resemble something similar to en couronne. Does this happen to anyone else?

Please get over yourself. She does whats required of her to do for her job. The shoot you're talking about was a ballet inspired shoot, she didn't have a choice in what was happening. If you want someone to hate, hate on the people who actually planned the shoot. Side note, This video used a soloist or a princeable. Not a very good representation of what a day to day life is actually like as they have a very different day compared to the core girls.

NOPE. at her 'supermodel' stage, she 100% has control over what kind or theme of photoshoot she wants to put herself into. She's just plain uneducated and inconsiderate which is understandable, I mean her sisters are cultural appropriators themselves

People that say dance isn’t a sport. It is a sport! It might be an elegant sport but it’s worth the time and training. Even though it looks elegant you need the strength and power especially turns like pirouettes and a la seconds.

i need advice! i started dancing ballet when i was 4, and i had dreams of becoming a professional dancer. unfortunately when i was 12 i had an ankle injury (not too serious, i was off dancing for a month) but when they x-rayed my ankle to check if it was healed, they found out i had severs disease, which is to do with growing rapidly and exercise, and it became too sore to dance on. my coaches and parents agreed i would take a year off, then come back with it all healed. but we moved out to the country and there are no studios around us now, and i never went back to dancing. i'm 15 now, and all i want to do is be a dancer. i can't imagine being happy in any other life where i'm not a professional dancer, but i can't take lessons now. what should i do?

a 'prima ballerina' is a high honour, it's the second highest title given to a dancer. It's a mark of respect for those with an exceptional career. A principal dancer is a hierarchic title for a dancer who is in the highest rank of a company and is usually called upon for the main roles in a ballet. Prima Ballerina is sometimes interchangeable in some European companies but in general its a title rather than a rank.
@noblesetsentimentales
@noblesetsentimentales 7 жыл бұрын
It's the same. "Principal dancer" is simply prima ballerina in Italian. You may be thinking of the prima ballerina assoluta title.
