That part that looks like they are around i think its supposed to represent the serpent sourunding him. If you look they also pass around an apple and he takes a bit and they fall (arms do anyways) because the theme of the song is Adam and eve forbidden fruit

As much as I like the costumes and lighting for the performance video, I like the practice video better. I am a fully paid member of the dance nerd fraternity and a follower of Fred Astaire's belief that dance should be filmed showing the full body. I realize that this is a music group and, as the focus is the song, they have to do close ups of whomever is singing. But beyond that, the constant cuts and unnecessary changes in camera angles really detracts from the choreography and lessens the impact of the performance. This was a stripped down MV, where the focus was the performance itself and the camera and editing choices really took away from that. If there had been a whole story line video with set and costume changes, it would make sense and I would get it, but here a lot of it seems to be camera changes for the sole purpose of having changes - because it adds nothing to the end product.
