I was one of the first woman Jockey in Germany 1974. And I loved my whole live to sing. But I have not his gift. He have a great voice. I hope he find what he is searching for.

I THOUGHT I recognized your name!! Between you and Penny Ann Early in the USA, you both paved the way for females to become Jockeys, opening the door to future amazing athletes in a male driven sport. I admire the both of you. Did you face similar issues as Penny did? When she was to ride at Kentucky's Churchill Downs, the male jockeys all refused to ride in a few races with her in protest and to keep her from racing. She went on to become a player on the men's American Basketball Association team. She had some amazing Firsts. It's a pleasure to come across your path here on a random KZbin video. I always wanted to become a jockey from a little girl. It was my dream. I was training with Trainer Noel Hickey (Irish Acres Farm) in Illinois back in the early 90s, and I had a great friend in Jockey Earlie Fires. Sadly it was too hard for me to make Bug weight (beginning jockeys who get a weight handicap to even the field against the more learned riders). I also realized the low weight wasn't good on my 63" height so I sadly gave up on my dream.

I agree with All you’ve said-Thanks! Weird to see Petra Katz on a ‘The Voice’ comment! Love it!! I grew up in Germany watching Petra back in ‘74! BTW, my dream of being a jockey was broken by genetics! At 20yrs. I still only weighed 110 lbs. but my 5’10 lg frame would’ve looked a bit strange in silks (I’d been that size since 16yrs)! LOL!

My dad when he was young in Florida, had several offers to be a jockey. He knew horses and he was small. When he was 40 years old he still only weighed 115 lbs. He was my hero, absolutely! When I asked him why he didn't become a jockey, and I knew he could have been one of the best, he said, "I don't want to do what I would have to do to keep my weight where it had to be." Kudos to this young man! He has my total support. He's a natural!!!!
