The "Magnetic River" is by no means something mysterious. It's a linear induction motor, a very useful design, which is well understood. But of course this design does not deliver more energy than goes in. I doubt that Prof. Laithwaite himself ever made such absurd claims. Only YT-videos do that.

If the info is correct, then not really This would be a permanent magnet induction linear motor That means the result is it runs itself and that’s because the Lorentz force ExB is just 2 magnetic fields interacting, current’s “magnet moments” And the magnet. Here he’s using b-emf (Faradays Law) (generator effect in a motor) to be a Lorentz force Thus this would keep running. Last more than a human’s lifetime. The math and physics and Laws are basically perfect. The teaching in physics and especially electrodynamics is full of Dogma! It is of basic knowledge to understand that the thermodynamics laws are NOT the reasons an electrodynamics machine limited to 100% input to 100% output. Even tho general science and electronics comunity make this mistake constantly. Its the magnetic functions force pairs that limit the machine in standard design to 100% output and of course that’s because of standard design. Here with a different design that limit can be exploited!

@@caminglis53 The info is not correct! This motor needs electromagnets and as all other electric motors an input of electrical energy. Prof. Laithwaite developed it in the late 1940, and there was never a newer design by him or any other person which worked with permanent magnets alone. And sorry, science makes no mistake. It is true that electromagnetic designs are outside the field of thermodynamics and I also don't understand why so many people always refer to the 1st law of thermodynamics. But in physics we have the law of conservation of energy which applies to all fields! It is this law which restricts output to 100%. All electromagnetic effects as Lorentz force or Back-EMF obey to this law, which is indeed a fundamental one. Up to now absolutely no observation is known which violates this law and in addition we have a mathematical proof - Noether-theorem - that conservation of energy (and momentum) is a prerequisite for the stability of our universe. I personally prefer a stable universe without permanent magnet motors to an unstable one with permanent magnet motors.

@@fido2644 I do my research, but I prefer credible information sources. Can you give me an example for your claim? Which water car prototype was ever classified by a government? Stan Meyer is often mentioned as an inventor of a water car. But his patents are not classified but on public display, but they don't work. And since Meyer has cashed prepayments for a water car but could never deliver it he was sued and sentenced for fraud. There is no indication that the government was active in his case. He died unexpectedly, due to autopsy the cause was a broken brain aneurysma.
