I really enjoyed listening to this lecture. I especially appreciate how Prof Farley does not shy away from exploring the moral-ethical realm of economics, which too many economists (even heterodox ones) do, especially in the US. Teaching about the ethical and political side of economics is necessary for our societies to make the shifts we need to survive the catastrophic results of the neoclassical, individualist-driven economics, which claims to be non-political but which is of course highly political, that has been dominant in the West since (and in reaction to) Marx’s work.
