Unai Pascual is an Ikerbasque Research Professor at the Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3), Bilbao, Spain. Previously he was associate professor for 10 years at the University of Cambridge. He is a leading ecological economist in the Intergovernmental science-policy platform for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), and has been extensively engaged in sustainability science around the world for the last 25 years. He has been part of many global sustainability science programs including the Global Land Program of Future Earth. He has published extensively in leading academic journals on environment & development links. Professor Unai Pascual here gave a talk on the IPBES report on diverse values and valuation of nature, launched in June 2022. Unai Pascual was co-chair of the report.
This lecture was given as a part of the "Sustainability Day for faculty and staff" on the 19th of January 2023. The recurring sustainability days are part of our joint work to continuously strengthen the School’s operations in the area of sustainability and societal challenges.
