I learned a lot about physical science and microbiology just by cultivating edible mushrooms.. Really! From proper sterilization to bacterial oocyists to passive diffusion.. They're a fascinating living thing to learn about.

This was not as entertaining as the idiocy of flat earthers but it is pretty cool to know more about mushrooms. Thanks Dave

Today must be mushrooms day. John Malone talked about mushrooms today as well. I love all things mushrooms except the deadly ones 😂

Sigh.... I am glad this Mycology series is here because this year is a write off for any field expeditions around here. Pretty much the driest October I can remember. Last year I saw my first stinkhorn, a great witches butter growth and a blewitt you could have hollowed out to live in. I guess I should go out to see what does come up when it is this dry, but I doubt anything rare will appear. I got interested in mushroom hunting almost 35 years ago, tromping through the ferns looking for psilocybin mushrooms, Audubon guide in hand because even as a teenager I had a solid respect for mycotoxins. My favorite mushroom photo is one of an oyster mushroom growing on the drywall in my bathroom, a very west coast thing indeed.

Fck yeah!!! We need MOAR vids about micology, I love mushrooms so much. For me as a marine biologist myself it would be second most entertaining subject alongside with crustacean. Also about decapoda subphylum is there or will there be any videos? Im really looking forward for this type of stuff!

Not too interested about this subject but just here to leave a like. Hearing this guy talk to flat earthers and the such was well needed, alas they are always too dumb to understand but at least someone is treating them with the contemp they deserve.

These mycology videos are awesome! Thank you for making these. I was also wondering if you have any plans to dedicate some videos to the physiological nature of different fungi, as well as spore dispersal methods and fungal symbioses. :)

Ok so i love learning about the taxonomy of mushrooms because it helps me know more for id-ing... I liked your stuff for the debunks but this all right here makes me feel like i still have my copy of "500 fungi"
