Hey guys here is a tip for getting the eight decimal mask values for the cidr notations (chart at 2:41) if you are having trouble memorizing the decimal mask. Start with the 8 bit decimal values: 128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1. Next starting from the top, add the previous sum to the current bit decimal value going from left to right. Use 0 for the first value since there isn't a previous sum. 0 + 128 = 128 128 + 64 = 192 192 + 32 = 224 224 + 16 = 240 240 + 8 = 248 248 + 4 = 252 252 + 2 = 254 254 + 1 = 255 Hopefully this helps.

Ok, this 7-second is definitely the go-to, once you're comfortable laying down the chart and using it, the job is easy.

As someone studying for the CCNA,I hope this helps me process subnetting. It feels very daunting,at times.

I use a hybrid method, combining the Magic Number method and the 7-Second method. I still calculate the Magic Number myself, but I use a chart for the CIDR notation conversion. I found this to be easier as I dont have to worry TOO much about memorizing a huge table.

bringing your own FINE TIP marker is actually a great idea, as the markers they provide are usually worn down. Thanks for looking out!

I doubt it. I'm trying to remember the ones he made for the previous Network+ exam--over 100 videos. Uploads are phased in.
