Kylers height doesn’t really bother me as much as his 1 year of experience . Trubisky is a good example because even though he was good his second year, he’s still making “rookie” mistakes and it’s just because the lack of experience . And it’s scarier because Kyler played in the Big12 so he didn’t need to make a lot of NFL reads, throws, and post snap processing . I believe he can learn those things ,but the wrong team picks him and he can fail MISERABLY .

wouldn't be surprised if he busts not only because of the system he played in but physically. I think he is too small and won't last physically. They try to compare to brees, Wilson, and baker. Those guys are like 5'11-6'0 and around 215 they are much bigger. Baker and brees are thicker than kyler and russel is well built. Forget what he is listed at, Kyler is probably 5'8-5'9 and around 180. I don't think he will hold up to the hits. Those others guys are called short, Kyler is just straight up small.

@12jswilson5 жыл бұрын
He was making NFL throws on a fairly regular basis to all areas of the field. I also saw a handful of full field reads in his tape, so he can do them. He lingers on his first read a little longer than I'd prefer, but it got much better as the season progressed. Blitz recognition was a problem, but that's always going to be a problem for young NFL QBs. His learning curve will be even steeper and that's a concern. Honestly, your concerns are more the ones I have about Haskins. Haskins had roughly 90% of his completions on slants, drags, swing, and screens. He seemed to struggle greatly on throws that weren't those. He has some full field reads, but most were simple, single defender reads. Along with Haskins' big problems with pressure, zone blitz will probably chew him up. That's not too damning a critique as zone blitz crushes almost all young QBs.

I think that the best thing for Murray is to get drafted by a team that can sit him for a year(at least) much like Kansas City did with Mahommes. Maybe the Denver Broncos should be his best landing spot since they have Keenum for another year. Or maybe even the Giants? I'm hoping that Haskins lands in Miami because they need to start over.

Why do people refer to Cousins as just an average starting QB? He’s a top 10 QB. There’s guys like Rodgers, Brees, and Brady, then there’s Ryan, Wilson, Rivers, and then Cousins and some others right below that. Dude has the highest (or second brightest) completion % in the NFL since becoming a starter, a top 5 TD:INT ratio and QBR, and has never thrown for less than 4k. He threw for 4k and 30 begins the damn vikings o-line. If that’s an average starting QB to y’all, then that’s incredibelb

Definitely not a concern at all. Most players couldn't care less who they get drafted by. Obviously if he wanted to play baseball over football, he wouldn't be in the NFL draft. However, there is also virtually zero chance he is top 10. Late 1st would be optimistic, but I see him as more of a mid-2nd round pick.

@@claymac7895 I think they are comparable in terms of stats for the Heisman season. Rg3 was more accurate and better arm. Go back and look Rg3 made more wow throws. Murray is better in the pocket. Even though he's small I think it'll be hard to tackle him. I like him as a prospect better than Haskins. He can change the way the game is played if he reaches his full potential.
@claymac78955 жыл бұрын
stingzen82 - I’ve got to admit, I didn’t realize RG3 was as accurate of a passer as he was in college. Jesus looking at video from 2012 looks like it was shot in the 1960’s, it’s amazing how far camera tech has come. But yeah, I think Murray would be the best QB in this class even if he couldn’t run at all. I don’t think the height will make any difference, it may even help him be more elusive. and frankly it’s kind of shocking so many “experts” still think it will. Russell Wilson is 5’10. The reason there aren’t more short QB’s is because all the short kids were told it’s impossible, play another position. It’s not like there has been tons of short QB’s who just fall of a cliff when they hit a certain level. There just haven’t been many that even tried.

As long as Kyler isn't "square peg, round holed" by an offensive coordinator that doesn't build an offense around his strengths and try and make him something he's not, (traditional pocket passer) I think Kyler can succeed in the NFL. Get him in a Shanahan type of play-action bootleg offense and he can tear it up. Don't care about his height, the kid can play.
@jeremyjackson81965 жыл бұрын
So take 2 to 3 years to build the entire offense around him and he'll be successful. The NFL doesn't work like that.
@tobenkirbo20965 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Jackson he didn’t say build the team just build around Kyler’s strengths. Like the bootleg play actions so if height even matters to him he can see and use his legs to his advantage as well. And wouldn’t be that hard to add some receiving talent by offseasons end.

Jeremy Jackson personally I think he’s got an alright chance. I think he’s the second QB in the class to me though. Haskins really impressed me in his 1 year at Ohio State. Grier third for me by a bit. And Kyler Murray is used to playing behind a big line at OU. Right team grabs anyone of those guys I think they could turn out nice. Daniels Jones I think at best is a solid back up. Drew Lock is the one I’m most unsure about. Higher potential than Jones though I think.

Awhile ago, I came up with the strategy, to draft a qb in the first round, give him 4 years to prove himself and if he’s not a top 5 guy, at the end of his contract you trade him away and draft a new guy and try again, meanwhile all the money you save goes into getting good pieces around you new qb rinse and repeat , hopefully eventually you find the next Rodgers/ Brady/ manning and then you pay the guy and sit back and watch the success
