Only video out there that helped me ENORMOUSLY. Thank you so much. One slight slight thing. When you had the A1 be triggered by the remote, you forgot to mention to go back into the menu and turn the head back to "on" (I finally figured that out) Thank you for your clear and thorough tutorial!

I have to agree with the previous comments. This is the BEST video, by far, explaining how to use the Profoto A1 with other Profoto units. I have the A1 and the B2 and this video has been extremely valuable. Thank you for taking the time and sharing. Great job!!!

This is one of the best I've seen on the basic "how to's", thank you for keeping it simple and informative!

Yes this is how to use the A1 as a 2 unit set up but both off camera B1 as key A1 as highligh on a stand , this all makes a great compact set up otherwise the A1 does nothing a normal speed light will do but at twice the price. This is a great tutorial for setting the two units working as a unit.

Can you use the on camera flash unit A1 in TTL and trigger the other slaves in manual? I use that feature a lot with my canon system.

Hi, thanks for the useful tutorial. Is it me or are you changing the settings in the remote unit totally blind? I know that this was a problem with the traditional TTL remote, but OK Profoto was first to the party and, ok, it was expected that the system will not be perfect. Now is 2017, and we have a bunch of options that are more powerful, faster, much more flexible and advanced, and as reliable as Profoto (but without the global support). That solution also cost a fraction of the Profototo's versions. I hope I am wrong and the issue is fixed and I can easily see the settings on the remote units
@TopicRentalsAuckland7 жыл бұрын
Hi Jaime. The remote does not display the heads power level. If your using TTL it shows the compensation your applying. In manual it shows you the power your adding or subtracting but not the actual power number.

Thanks for the reply, right not it seems pure stubbornness, I can't believe that in all this time they were not able to fix the issue. Disapointed, 999$

The only reason I would get one is to have a backup trigger for my b1x.
@TopicRentalsAuckland6 жыл бұрын
Hi William makes a awesome Trigger. We have a number of customers buying this instead of a Air remote, as you can still use as fill.

william morales It’s actually the best speedlight on the market and the only one that can provide consistent exposures when used at up to 9fps with the D850.

I returned the A1 and B1 back because it DID NOT work on our Sony cameras. It did not work using Jinbei HD-610, Interfit S1 & Phottix Indra 500. So the main problem is Sony can't get their act together. Sony likes to pump out newer cameras every 16 or 21 months. At the same time by staff DID NOT like using the Air Remote TTL /or A1 w/reasons: - No ATG AF Assist Beam on Air Remote TTL - No ATG Auto Sensor on A1 - Got less than 150 flashes on B1 - Got less than 250 on A1 - Broken MIS shoes - Hard to push or insert onto Sony A9, A7 & A6000 series

Profoto hasn't made an A1 for the Sony as of early 2019. Now you know why they didn't work for you in 2018. I have a Sony A6300, Sony A9 and A7RII. The B10s work flawlessly with all three.

@@mavfan1 So, the Air Remote works with the a6300? It's not listed official on the compatibility chart. I have an a6300 and I'm considering a B10.

So I just got this Air TTL remote for canon, to use with my new B2 lights. I'm new to flash and lighting, so I'm not sure what these dialing settings do. Would it be possible to make a video for this, for flash lighting dummies/newbies with the Profoto system? I can't seem to find a starter video for the Profoto system. Maybe it's because almost everyone using or migrating to the Profoto system are already true flash lighting professionals... But I'm really a newbie at it.

go to the Profoto site and/or the Profoto youtube channel plus there are many other youtube videos. Seth Miranda (lastxwitness) recently did a video on the air til remote on his Instagram channel too.
