One A1X on camera, set to group A, working in auto. Two off camera Profoto lights, one each in groups B and C, working in manual. Is this possible?

Two questions: 1. Is xsync available for Sony now? 2. What is the output of the modelling lamp in flicker free mode at full power at 1 meter away?

X-sync is not available for sony. This is due to the multi pin interface on the front of the shoe making it larger than a normal hot shoe. I’m not sure of the output of the continuous lamp in flicker free.

Is there any news on the very annoying problem with Canon EOS R5 and correct E-TTL metering for subjects under 1m to the camera? The R does not have that problem.

I’m not really sure what the difference in TTL between the R and R5 are but, certain camera companies don’t like to work as closely with other that make products to compliment theirs. This require a lot of reverse engineering to sort it out. We’re constantly tackling bugs and cleaning up compatibility issues.

@@topherrelly I recently bought the Canon EL-1. It is so much better than the A1X. It integrates perfectly with the R5. Most of the modifiers it has integrated and you do not need to carry around the magnet clics. The only thing that it can not do is the laser AF assist and Air Remote TTL. But the first does not work with Canon mirrorless anyway and the Air Remote TTL in A1X I never used.

At 1/1 power, how many burst flashes until shutdown & overheat kick in? Canon EL-1 sucks after 165. Canon EL-1 has ATG Auto2, where is the A1x? Canon EL-1 has no HV port, where is the A1x?

I’ve never tried just holding down the trigger until it goes into protect mode but, the A-series is built with extremely heat tolerant parts that allow for it to manage the heavy use without going into thermal. Everyone else uses plastic that can’t handle the heat and causes it to shut down to preserve itself.
