Profoto Live - B10 Plus and B1x Comparison

Wow they each have advantages I like.. if I get one of each, would they play well together? What would be the advantages and disadvantages of having 2 that are not the same?

I’m a full time pro editorial photographer and I bought a set of the b10plus heads and thought they were the greatest thing in the world……until one of the flash tubes blew. Not only can you not change it yourself but it cost about 620 US dollars and you have to send in your head to profoto. It’s been 7 weeks so far and they are still “fixing” it. I can’t have my gear in service for this long. Every other head I have I can change out the tubes myself. Great lights but this is a major deal breaker for me.

I'm wanting to take off the plate on the front to sharpen up my shadows and realizing this is the only one that you can't take off your self...Major headache. Feels like it could also be a game changer for someone in commercial photography and while this lighting style is very in style.

Thank you so much for this all the way from the UK..I was set on buying 2 x B1X then started comparing with B10 Plus...happy to say that I'm sticking with the B1X. Good presentation, it was full of good comparison points.

Got 2 B10s and less than a month later the plus version arrived. Today I got a B1x. Reason mostly about getting my RFi modifiers back into service but also because the stand adapter on the B10s is just not user friendly -- not talking about the complaints some have had about it not being sturdy (no issues for me there) but turning the knob and angling the light is so royally annoying, every, single, time!

The Batterie issue might be solved by a second battery. Then you are still cheaper with the B10 plus and have more flashes 400 instead of 325.

Unfortunately the B10 has no synchkable input! Why not? Too expensive? The B1x and B2 have one! So what is the tool for professional photographers?

Chris...you're a lively speaker, which is certainly good, but I found that this particular video dragged-on way too long simply because the same material/information was repeated several times and the audience had to sit through watching you give shout-outs to people on the computer. I just want to hear about the facts and comments about personal experiences to help me decide which lighting to purchase. The same amount of material - and more - was covered in other videos in much less time. This video probably could have been cut by 2/3rds. Overall, it would have been much more interesting if your presentation was more structured, concise, and focused on the topic while leaving-out the social media component. Thank you...

Dude, I can’t see it... it’s good to listen only if you close your eyes. It’s not an armrests in your car, it wouldn’t help to understand how sturdy they are)). You represent yourself over the flashes you talk about. It’s simply disrespectful.. Can’t imagine Broncolor swiss guys will make the same.
