It just makes me feel like a gentle reminder that I really need to hear without falling deeper into a darker place. This video was very fitting for what I’ve been feeling lately. I appreciate you doing these videos. You don’t know how much you help those who don’t have someone who can spread this kind of knowledge when they’re going through bs. Thank you.

“the second you ask for their validation, is the second for them to tell whether you are right or wrong” might be one of the best things I’ve heard in a while. I feel like so often we give the power of OUR lives to other people that don’t even have the best intentions in mind for us. we should focus on solely living what live we deem the most fulfilling and push it to its farthest extent, because either way people will talk. Either you can choose for people to talk down when you’re trying to conform or talk down when you’re doing what you love.
@JacobMayes-l4w3 ай бұрын
I agree with this to a great extent. I think about this a lot. I think this is how people go down a “wrong path” or develop a hatred for themselves. I’ve personally experienced telling myself i want to do something, yet i wouldn’t do it. Whether it was through procrastination or just simply not remembering. Daily i would repeat the thought process and it clearly led to me having less confidence and not “feel like myself”. I believe not doing something that you believe you need to do will lead to the smallest issues, which then lead to the biggest. This is the first video I’ve seen and I love hearing your thoughts. Starting small helps a lot, so you don’t risk letting yourself down and developing a discipline to trust within your life.

This! “Learn to find freedom from your own expectations.” Loved that. I think you made a great point about the importance of building an almost “default positive tone” for every single day. I think all of us want to level up, but we often lose sight on the here & now… and just letting ourselves live in the moment. Keep making more videos!! Appreciate your perspective!

The present joy one steals from themselves by using comparison to a future Image could be just a destructive as the joy removed through comparison to others. I’m gonna start this message by saying I need help. I have just finished secondary school and now am in the longest summer break of my life probably. I’ve been trying to stay disciplined by going on runs and starting a going to a new gym but even though I’m better looking then I was as a kid but I was made fun of for a specific feature and I’m struggling to embrace it as who I am. I feel shit because a lot of times I had to make connections with people I didn’t because deep down I didn’t think I was good enough and with society’s expectations and high standards I was afraid of getting a girlfriend because I didn’t want to make her my therapist by telling her .I don’t speak to anyone other then my family but never stuff like this and that’s why I’m staying this here. I get stuck with “life’s to short to care about things that do not matter in the end” and feeling bad for myself and not loving myself. I don’t think I’ll ever look in the mirror and not see it but I want to learn to accept it I wanna learn to be more open with people and hopefully find someone that loves me .Any advice is appreciated.

You have to learn to like you
@mulanomula3 ай бұрын
Personally, the main reason why people have such insecurities is because your putting other people's expectations and perceptions on you onto you. You need to embrace the side of you that you actually love, not everything is about the physical its mostly about the spiritual and mental. You need to start doing things for you and not any societal standards that people have arbitrarily placed on you. This is not their life this is yours and you need to accept that YOU ARE ENOUGH. You need to start embracing who you are with the expectations that you set for yourself, forget anyone else; in the long run their opinions will not get you anywhere in life. Once you learn that the next step is to embrace the beauty of uncertainty for the future. You don't know what your gonna feel in 10 days, 20 days, even 365 days but what's certain is that you will grow even if you don't feel like you have. My advice to you is to write down your thoughts on a regular basis, don't skim over the details you have to write like it's a love letter to yourself for the future. The biggest question I asked when I was in a situation similar to yours is: "WHY DO I CARE SO MUCH ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK OF ME?" I struggled to find an answer and I knew then and there that I needed to drop expectations. Try asking yourself why you care so much and if you can't find an answer then it is time to take the steps needed to forgive and love yourself.
@paigecrosby46993 ай бұрын
i struggle with something very similar, but ive also been on the other end. acceptance does not mean you have to “love” it or even really “like” it. you just have to learn to accept it - which is easier said than done, but it’s possible. i think researching some more videos about guilt and shame would maybe be beneficial. my biggest thing with that + being in a relationship, you just cannot expect them to “fix” it/you. it’s very hard, but you HAVE to make time for yourself and find what you enjoy outside of that, because you’ll always feel a void if not. i hope they do, but people don’t stay with you forever, but you do. so it’s really important to find hobbies, spend time alone, etc. i hope at least some of this can help you!

I wonder if it ever gets difficult or frustrating for you trying to communicate these realizations, in any sort of way, and have them come to fruition. It's probably not meant to be a negative experience, and it is natural that there will be some times where the point cannot be explained (or so they say) but this thought really intrigued me
