Thanks for the comments folks! Sorry it has been so long since I posted, but I wanted to wait until I had something post-worthy... I suppose this qualifies, ha! Glad to see so many others out there who appreciate progressive rock music.

Look who's back, hi Brian, Very cool Yes bootleg. I did see Yes in the round and it was the 1978 tour. I sat way down in front of the stage. That was the show I told you about that I watched a frisbee come down from the balcony ann it perfectly floated to the stage as Jon Anderson put his hand up to catch it. A classic rock show moment I will never forget. Very nice copy of Aphrodites Child. A staple in the VC. Floyd's 'More' outstanding pressing. Didn't you show a 'Ekseption' LP before? 1/2 Rob

SDsailor, thanks for all your comments! Glad you are enjoying the videos on my prog rock LP collection... Sounds like we share some of the same musical interests.

Two of two: That Yes 1975 pressing with the original cover is very pretty. Those albums and especially the double LP with the first two albums is really fantastic. Those picture sleeve 7" were equally phenomenal. The Aphrodite's Child Vertigo is such a sweet and rare find. 'Wow, 'Money' Floyd has got to be a rarity. I am so glad you got the Yes 'Sweetness' and 'Roundabout' 7"'s. If anyone should own those it should be you. NICE, Crimson 'ITCOTCK'. Outstanding post Brian~ Rob (^‿◕) Boston

I think those 7-inch 45's you got scored the highest. I guess I need to go to France someday, damn.

One of the best videos i've watched on youtube! really enjoyed watching this! I recognised 75% of the records you found, and oh my god look at that, ITCOTCK, Camel, VDGG, Yes, Jean michel Jarre (i'm french) Rush, Jethro Tull, Ange, Aphrodite's child, Vangelis, the amazing keyboardist Tony Banks, those 45 of DSOTM and ITCOTCK! Man i love you

Haha! Thanks Stefan, I am glad you enjoyed the video. I haven't made any videos lately, but maybe I'll make another update soon. Just this last week, I found a British "pink island" pressing of ITCOTCK for $20 in my local record store...these are very rare anymore, and sell for much more. By the way, what part of France do you live in?

Fantastic collection of Prog-Albums, This collection shows your good taste and your knowledge of this topic. In my opinion Aphrodite’s Childs album 666 is a milestone in Prog-Music! Demis Roussos is from Greece as well as Vangelis Papathanassiou.

I made a comment on one of your other videos asking if you knew about Camel, and here you are showing two of their albums, My moonmadness album cover is like the one you showed. And i belive is a U.S pressing. I will have to check. I found about Camel when i went to a "Laserium show" and the show opened with one of their songs "lunar sea" and from then on i was hooked.

Bill, to each his own, I suppose. I kind of like the idea, since I tend to think of music in "eras" (late sixties, versus 70-75, disco era-1980, etc... But for me, I sort first by genre (prog, standard rock, metal, bluegrass, etc), then alphabetical within that, then by year of release for each artist. I can put my hands on any album quickly, without necessarily having to remember what year the release was... But I like the idea of it showing how music progressed versus time... Intriguing idea!

Cool t shirt! by the way i subbed to your channel..since you are a proger. I went to the local flea market this weekend and stopped at a guy that was selling stuff and some records i started checking them out and saw some good finds, so i asked him how much they were and he said 50 cents each! I could not believe it since most of the sellers sell them at one dollar minimum, average being two bucks. So i found in the stack a Genesis wind and wuthering, abacab and making movies by Dire Strait

Abc -- ouch! I never claim to be any kind of authority on prog music, just a guy who like a lot of it and is discovering more and more of it. Strawbs is one of those bands where I've picked up a few LPs but am behind on my listening. Which Strawbs LP would you say is their best? I'll give it a spin... Ps - glad you are enjoying the series!
@charlessimerly26611 жыл бұрын
Great finds! McDonald and Giles actually came after King Crimson! Excellent album! You have some amazing pieces in there (many I would love to have). The In The Court that you have is a 1987 pressing if I'm correct. I agree with the Camel albums looking awful. Very cool Yes compilation! Amazing 45 pieces! I would literally die of a heart attack if I found that King Crimson!

Great pick-ups man!! Congrats on that Crimson 45! I´ve been trying to get an affordable copy of that 666 album for my swirl-collection. Does your copy have the swirli, or the spaceship label? I´m curious if you have some more proggies on the vertigo label (preferred the vertigo swirl).

What do you think to my theory that albums should be stored in chronological order in your collection? Then Greatest Hits/ compilation albums should be separate and in alphabetical order. The reason being is in a large collection you can see the flow/ progression in music through the years... To find what you want you just go to the era of when it came out...(?) I do it this way. "Alphabetically" is essentially a random storage method.

Aphrodite's Child 666 actually sucks except for one track- The Four Horsemen. I had that for a good while, and could never really stand it. I listened to it numerous times, but could only assume people thought it was cool because it was about the book of Revelation.

This is not the original Pink Floyd More french press. The one you have must be a 1975 repress. The original copy has a fold out cover, a dark green label and a "T" price code on the top right back of the cover.
