I would like to also acknowledge the hard work, and friendship of the rest of the band. Bryan Burdick was our live sound engineer, and he also recorded and mixed the tracks on the album. And our lighting director was Sam Crouch. Crew consisted of Ed Morris, Charlie Ingram, and part timers Ronnie Sheffield and Steve Brown. You guys were the glue that held it together and made it work!

I was just digging through my old vinyl collection and found this record. I remember buying it from the little record store in the shopping strip on Sheridan (between Crystal’s Pizza and Casa Bonita). I was surprised I remembered every single song. I must have listened to it alot. I always played my albums only once to make a cassette and never again so its in great shape. Good memories!

Seth, here's a bonus cut for you (and anyone who cares). One of the last things we recorded together. It did not see the light of day until 1990, when I remixed it and included it on a (at time of release) solo project called "Hear The Music". The rest of the tracks on that and a 2010 5 song EP we mainly recorded with myself, the drummer, Stan and guitarist / keyboardist Brian. I did utilize a few of my Kansas City music friends on the EP, too. All of those tracks have been rebranded under the name Seven Weathers. You can find them on Reverb Nation. Thanks again everyone! Counterpoint or from Tulsa Oklahoma in the seventies maybe into the 80s I'm not certain but yes they loved Kansas my first band was with the drummer and so I know they loved Yes and Chicago? Stan liked REO Speedwagon and Grand Funk... He always loved Three Dog Night! But we formed our band as 13 and 14 year old kids in the summer of 1968 playing In A Godda Da Vida Born to Be Wild Purple Haze Light My Fire Proud Mary and I've Got A Line On You... Only enough we were unable to play Ballet For A Girl In Buchannon? We did attempt Whole Lotta Love... I sang 😵

Dear Prog Line, I am one of the members of Counterpoint. How did you run across this? If you have a moment please let me know how to contact you. No issues! Just curious, and have a question for you. Thanks. Brion Leftwich

The Kaopectones Brian this is a great album you recorded with your band I got one question why was this album is short and not almost 40 minutes
@thekaopectones8626 жыл бұрын
Two main reasons: the recording was interrupted by our first studio being destroyed in a tornado. The gear survived, but it took awhile to find a new building and construct a new, better place. And we made a conscious decision to keep it short, thereby allowing the best sonic reproduction to vinyl, as we did not have access to the " big boys" mastering and pressing facilities.

seth mulholland Thank you (and everyone else!) for your kind words, and for listening! I was surprised to find this on YT all these years on. The band broke up in 1984, and, sadly, our main keyboardist is no longer with us, and our drummer had his left hand severed (and miraculously reattached, though non functional for drumming) in an industrial mishap, so there will never be a proper reunion. But, if people hear it, and like it, we can bask in that, to an extent. Thanks again for listening!
