One reason why so many give up learning programming is they became impatient and get discourage if their expected time frame to learn that programming language did not meet their expectation. The propaganda you learn this programming in only 3 months is not totally true. People have different capacities to learn. Some are like horses where they can learn in a short amount of time and some like turtles it might take a while to reach their goal.
@PixemWeb6 жыл бұрын
Well said. It’s deceiving, the syntax of most coding languages isn’t that difficult. But to code the logic flow, thinking like a programmer, that’s what takes serious time and effort. It can take years for some. Thanks for watching.

Excellent points and you are 100% right! I have a learning disability so I had to struggle all the way through college. My university professors said I was so stupid I shouldn't be aloud to graduate with a degree in any field of engineering! Now after 25 years of writing code professionally I struggle with burn out and found your video looking for motivation to re-engage in my projects that I already know I can do.
@PixemWeb2 жыл бұрын
Success is the best revenge. You’ve accomplished what others said you couldn’t. Now you just have to figure out how to get through the burnout. Maybe find something to challenge you, especially if you haven’t done anything new with what you know. Or maybe find a deeper why. You can also try a new hobby. For me, I like to workout and play chess. So when I’m feeling out of it, that’s what I do. Mix it up a bit. You got this.

I so needed to see this. This is the kind of thing I need to remind myself of on a daily basis. I have a nasty habit of looking ahead, seeing how much more I have to learn, and letting myself get overwhelmed and intimidated by it. Every day I have to tell myself that I know more than I did yesterday. On the other hand, I feel guilty if I let a day go by without spending at least a little time sitting at my laptop and learning. I have a wife, a two-year-old daughter, and a baby boy on the way. I’m doing this for them as well as myself. And obviously it’s important to spend time with my family. But if I take a break for one day I feel like I’m getting lazy and letting them and myself down.

Another hurdle to overcome is understanding that it is completely 100% okay to feel at some point in programming, like you don't want to program, like you need to take some time for your brain to rest; it just means that your brain needs to re-organize all that you have learned up to today. If you feel like that, it's normal, and it does not make you a bad programmer, it just means you are human and are not a computer that can just program program program program 24/7. You need those pivotal moments to let your brain and body to readjust to a new level. Most of the times when you feel that way, is because it occurs after you have done a lot of new things and created complex procedures and code. Great work, rest, and prepare yourself mentally that you need to keep pushing forward. *Programming is a life long journey, that involves making many mistakes and having the satisfaction to overcome those challenges. If that's you today, great job mate, don't let anyone ever tell you or make you feel like you are not good enough. Because there is no such thing as a Programmer who writes code perfectly 100% of the time. Even to the best of programmers, they can still have syntax errors or redundancies in there build.

Hi PIxem! So, i' 27... about a month ago i decided i want to start making games. Now, i've never touched the topics of coding, game development, level design, character modeling & animation. At first i thought - "visible progress will appear maybe years from now... should i even try? am i not too late?"... But as soon as i started, within days i began to see patterns, logic, syntax. It's like - the more i delved into it, the more sense it made. I started checking sources for code, started looking at certain tutorials, motivational vids to keep my mind focused on the task at hand and not fall to depression & self-doubt. I started making sense of things on a level others around me don't understand. And everything you said in this vid confirms everything i've come to believe in the past few years and especially in the last few months.... What i'm trying to say is... Thank you! For confirming what many of us believe... and for helping those who feel weak to find their strength, and give direction to those who've lost their way. - - - - - Thank you! :)

We use our 5 human senses in the digital world to make us feel like we're in the real, whether that's riding a motorcycle or any real-world activity that involves in that digital world that we create for ourselves to be happy in a world we are happy in. which I'm inferring is multisensory integration for this type of project that I want to achieve.

When I started coding in Java it was so hard, I ended up, running to PHP, but deep down I knew that I love Java even tho most people who don’t know about Java and the way it is, criticize it, I made pact with myself that I would force myself to study Java will all my power, and then something amazing started happening, I started understanding how the things really worked, not because I’m a intelligent guy, but because i fighted for it, and now I’m building a Next Level Library Management System in a way I never thought I could do... A quick note guys: Practice, Practice and Practice, without than you won’t learning for sure.

Thank you very much sir I really appreciate you. I am learning web development using Django. I started coding last year with Python. I will really like to have your contacts, I am very passionate about programming and success but sometimes I just felt down considering where I am since all these while. But thank you very much for this enlightenment

I've started to make game this small python game. You solve riddles with multiple choices and there's a story with different endings, it seems so.ewhat unorganized and its gotten me feeling like delaying it. This was good advice to start working again on it.

Just don't compare yourself with others, comparison is the thief of joy,don't let it rob your happiness,I'm in a similar phase now,hope we overcome this.Atleast I'm not comparing, overthinking.
