if anyone actually wants to know what "baked lighting" is, i'll explain it in simple terms: its just pre-rendered light maps, what i mean by this is that there's an texture or something that tells the objects what to light up and what to not to light up. it not only looks better than realtime light rendering but is also faster

Hey Dani, when hooking with the sword, it seems kind of illogical to have it be turned around basically stabbing yourself and likely very inconvenient to hold on to. I think a cool aesthetic change would be making the blade itself sort of like a whip blade that can extend and hook on to things. This way you don't stab yourself all the time when hooking on to things and it could open up for more possibilites with the sword. Anyways, I like milk.

Watching the gameplay, it looks like it would be fun if you had some kind of bullet deflection mechanic. A method I can think of is if you press a key the character will block with the sword for a quarter of a second. Any bullet that hits the character during that quarter of a second has its rotation changed to match the characters. You could also implement a cooldown on blocking so the player doesn't just deflect every bullet from the boss.

For anyone wondering, "Baking" Lights is technique in rendering (and Video games!) where you calculate the lighting before the scene is rendered then you save an image of the shadows, so all you have to do is simply ray-cast the lights and boom, the shadows are there. Im pretty stupid though so feel free to correct me
