Programming key fob on a 2009 Escalade ESV

This trick will work on Escalades/Tahoe’s/suburbans/and Yukon’s 2007-2014

Step 1 INSERT key and TURN the ignition to ON (just shy of starting vehicle without cranking engine). Step 2 PRESS vehicle information button until “PRESS TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY” is displayed. Step 3 PRESS the Set/Reset Button (Button will have a checkmark) until “REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE” is displayed. Vehicle is now in Programming Mode. Step 4 PRESS and HOLD LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time on first remote for approximately 15 seconds. An acoustic signal will sound indicating successful programming. Step 5 REPEAT Step 4 to program additional remotes. You can have up to 8 programmed remotes for this vehicle. You must program ALL remotes including existing remotes. Step 6 To EXIT Pogramming Mode TURN ignition OFF & REMOVE key. Step 7 Test all remotes. Programming is now complete. Hey when I bring the right menu on the dash and push the check mark bottom to the program, I don't get the Chime as you hear in this timestamp 1:12 of your clip. So I can't program the original remote that stopped functioning after the car had a dead battery for a long time and now that all is fine, that is a newly placed and well-charged car battery and new remote battery... ANY HELP PLEASE?

i’m pretty sure that’s something else more complicated, like you might actually have to use a computer for that in order to program a keyless entry key

2011 model programming. If anyone is reading with a 2011, in 2011 the self programming feature was removed, visit a locksmith or dealership. I $trongly recommend a locksmith:)

There is a Turn Engine On the bottom, on my fob (ESV 2008) and there is an option in the menu to turn this feature on or off. When I leave it on on, I still can't turn the engine on by the remote. Does it work on yours?

thanks for posting. I damaged my #1 fob, and have ordered a new one from GM. I still have my #2 fob. When I program the new #1 will have have to reprogram my existing #2 fob?

rhawkins2003 the sorta fob you speak of that has the hidden key within the fob are for models that have push to start the 07-14 Escalades didn’t have that option so there’s no key within them. Long as you have a existing key and working fob you can order a factory surplus fob off amazon for like $70 an a uncut key for $15 an $5 to have the key cut at a dealer programming the key is as easy as putting working key in an turning to on position an then removing that key an putting new cut key in an turning to the on position within 30 seconds an waiting for the beep if it does not beep there’s a chance your ECM has all 4 key settings programed an you’ll have to have a dealership erase all the keys from it an relearn then for you but if ya only ever had the two factory keys an lost one you can do it your self an the fob is as easy as you just seen. Hopefully that answers some of your questions. Most of this stuff is pretty simple as long as you haven’t lost both sets if your starting from scratch you can have a key cut an programed from your vin number but that is when the price starts to get lil excessive,I’ve done this multiple times on many makes an models across GM’s suvs/trucks so I assure you if you have some basic common sense an able to read the driver information center an follow the prompts you will be able to do this your self an not pay a stealership an hour of labor for something you can do in your driveway.
