Thank you for your insights! I was going nuts trying to set the clock. Nothing I did worked until I saw your video and heard you say the recording had to be off to do any programming!!! Thank you!!!!!! The camera would have recorded, but the time and date being off I'm sure would have made any info inadmissible in court if needed.

Hi Anthony, thanks for the video. I was wondering why my camera kept turning off. I watched various videos but no one covered what you showed. What you showed was that if the back light is set to a timer then it turns off at that time, however you you turn that off then the camera doesnt keep turning off. I only figured it out when I watched your video. I was almost at the point of returning mine. So thank you very much. Appreciate you doing the video.

My first too. Nice job. The G Shock I'm thinking is when your camera senses a vibration it will turn on. This is a battery saving and xan be memory saving as well. The unit computes the battery power reserve. In order to be in the mode for everything the optional hardwiring equipment included needs to be attached. Black to ground or negative post, yellow to power and red also to a positive. The difference in the red and yellow is the way they connect to your vehicle. If I'm not mistaken the yellow goes to a fuse panel that ties into your computer (black box) Engine Control Module while the red off a power source directly from the positive side of battery not ECM. This is to prevent causing your battery to go dead it only powers on to record for a minute or so after the car feels tampering. In this mode the additional hardware must be hooked up. If not it may not activate properly and battery could drain beyond minimal amount to use components and start.

WELL DONE I just installed same and was doing battle with it to let me in to the bloody menu. Who would have thought ,when you turn it on it auto records so you have to turn record off to do fate and time things . Thank you from Western Australia. I intend to make this the subject of a report to the supplier,as it doe NOT mention this in the the so called Manual. Best wishes Rob.

Huge help - thank you! I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get into that second menu until I saw you do it. BTW, the G-sensor is an accelerometer. Basically it senses any sudden shock or movement, such as in an accident, rear-ender etc. The general idea is that it will turn on and record if it's not already doing so, if it senses any "G's" or shock - such as if somebody backed into your car while parked, or if you're rear-ended etc. (Of course, I have no idea if this model supports such a thing when the car is off, since it's willingness to stay on after being unplugged seems to last about 1 second...)

First dash cam too. Thanks for the lrssin. Ine thing.I cant seem to figure out how to " recharge" the cam. I have taken it in and pluggked in the usb cable..i only see a green lightening bolt but no bars

G sensor activates your camera if your car is hit when you are not around it adjusts the sensitivity of when it activates

When installing the camera you will find 2 fuse box connections. 1 for ignition power feed to the camera, the other for the g sensor feed which requires constant battery power. The g sensor will switch on the camera after a g force impact on the vehicle. This will not drain your battery it will only turn on the camera for fixed amount of time 5 min. or adjustable on some models.

William, am I right that the unit needs to be hardwired instead of being plugged into the cigarette lighter for this to work so it has the ignition power to turn it on when driving and the constant power to turn on when not running? If the cig lighter only works when the car is on then it won't have power to run the unit.(mine is constant hot which I hate)

Do you know what could be the problem: record for a short time and then make a sound several times and the recording stops and I have to turn it on again to record and then the same process is repeated again. a small blue screen with something written appears and it goes so fast that I can't read what it is. If you know or somebody else and know the problem please let me know thank you have a great day👍

Sounds like a problem with the sim card or the charger is turning the video off. Mine needed a new charger
