@VirtualParentalUnit - Those are huge cranes and they move slowly and carefully. So if one watches in real time for any period of time, it looks like they're moving in slow motion.

Great work! I love watching the little yellow excavator with the hydraulic shear working to free the sections for the crane on the left pulling steel from the channel. He has to rely on the tug to move his barge around. Great team work.

Hello Richard . The little yellow excavator is a Komatsu PC 1250 and is actually quite large weighing 125 tons . But it is dwarfed by those huge cranes ! 😊

Is it just me or does it look like we can see some of the areas where they've already implanted the demolition charges? On the upper left side of the main bridge truss that is lying on the ship, I can see a few spots with what looks like a dark wrapping around the girder, about where the diagram showed the charges would be placed. Four on the left, and one on the right, what I've been able to pick out so far. Edited to add: At 10:05 you can see them putting on another one, just up from the one already on the right. These are located not quite halfway down.

At 5:26, guys finished cutting through the steel so it could be lifted away by crane. I wonder if a similar technique will be used when shaped charges are used to cut away at those girders, cranes rigged to the large sections so they won't have to be dredged up after the detonations? Will be interesting to see either way.
@lizj574028 күн бұрын
The animation of the charges blowing, by USACE, shows them all falling into the water.

My concern is for the hundreds of containers and their contents!! What happens to them? The goods in them have not been delivered on time, and is some cases have surely become contaminated ?? Will the contents simply be disposed of under insurance? Should be an interesting story to be told here!! Any takers?

Just wondering but why is their always static in the background? It may be obvious but I'm sort of new to watching these (awesome) videos
@lizj574028 күн бұрын
Andy is "rebroadcasting" the radio traffic between the barges, tugs, and cranes. (And maybe some others, too.) That's the source of the static.
