Angel, There's a few pieces of info that was left out in the anime about Ariel disguised at Fitz. In the manga, after meeting Ariel/Fitz, Rudy goes straight to the library. And finding Sylphie there, there was no way for her to have gotten there ahead of him. which was the first clue. Then Rudy noticed Ariel-Fitz didn't talk or make eye contact. And he reasoned they wears the glasses and don't speak because the magic can't disguise her voice or her eyes. And that's why Fitz always wears glasses and is "silent", so Ariel can disguise herself.

They skipped the explanation but Ariel has a magical item that allows her to borrow the appearance of someone else. Is a set of 2 rings. Fitz uses one ring and sends her image to the wearer of the second one, however, the "image cloning" is not perfect. For one, it doesn't copy the eye color, so that's why "Fitz" has to use sunglasses all the time. It also doesn't copy the voice which is why "Fitz" has to remain silent while working. It doesn't completely change the body composition, so that's why Rudeus felt something was different with the "Fitz" he encountered in the market. Rudeus invited Fitz to the meeting with Soldat but she said that she was busy and had to take care of Ariel in at that time. She expected him to be busy all day but Soldat had to finish his reunion early on so that's why he caught them by surprise in the market. After that he went to the Library directly, taking the fastest route, so it was impossible that Fitz would have arrived to the Library before him. When Rudeus confronted Fitz in the library she was shocked first, but then replied all the answers directly, like reading something from a script she already had practiced many times before. That's why Rudeus was able to figure out things. Also,, Julie is a dwarf so they need alchohol no matter the age, this is pretty much a common trope in all kind of fantasy series.

The whole of season 1 was essentially to build the world, as like 85% of the world was passed through on the way back to asura, so there probably won’t be as much going forward.
