I have owned my freeze dryer for almost 5 years and can promise you, you want it in another room. You plan to film there, have family gatherings you will be fighting noise. Its not something you can pause while you film. I would put near your freezers if me. It will cut down your dry time to pre freeze all you can on the trays, so more convenient to have near the freezer.

This is REALLY GOOD info, thanks so much. I hadn't read or heard that anywhere yet (I see several similar comments coming in now). I just sent Travis a message with the info. We'll have to put one in the basement or new (upcoming) laundry room. That places those happy thoughts on the back burner for the moment. thank you!! 😊

@@JamerrillStewart The 7 CFM vacuum pump noise level will be constant for no less than 12 hours, and that is a very short batch. Most are around 36-50 hours non stop. Only other thing would be good ventilation for the pump.

Wonderful to see. I am an ex Army reservist cook and am unable to do much nowadays due to being lesser abled so watching your and other U.S. based home cooks doing it all is my favourite thing to do. Nights that I cannot sleep there you are to amuse and entertain me. I have a kitchen that is tiny with almost no usable bench space. Well a couple of feet in the corner. A girl can dream by watching your kitchen happen. Thanks from Melbourne Australia.

OH, OH, OH I pray you see this. In a camper we lived in, because we needed to be closer and get back to being a family, and the greatest part was the plugs being on top of the countertop instead of the side. It had a removable cover and I never had to worry about little hands grabbing a cord! And I promise that if I was ever to build another home I want an island or counter space where there are several plug ins in an area to say hold my coffee pot, etc!! I am sooo stinking happy for y'all, especially you girl, I'm giddy, lol!!! God Bless y'all!! Also what Mrs. Patty Millard commented is a big plus, my Sil reported from her brother!!

It is a room that we built specifically to hold food storage, appliances, canners, large pots, dehydrator, freeze dryer, extra fridge, and freezer. I can close the door when it is running. We have a ceiling fan to help cool and circulate the air when it is running.

I just saw Ben and Erin on Hometown install pop-up outlets on an island. It was cool because they flipped up/open and then when not in use they were flipped down and flush with the island with a cover to protect the electrical from food gunk that often happens. Also, if ANYONE deserved a pot filler it’s you. Anything to make cooking life easier is a very good thing. That stove is gorgeous!

With the commercial refrigerator a few tips. 1 there are lovely shelf liners that you can get that fit nicely into it. They are great for things not falling between the grates but don't use them everywhere. Those refrigerators are designed for air to circulate, and when you line the shelves it restricts circulation and you end up with hot spots in there. 2 when the doors close they vacuum seal so you have to wait 10-20 seconds for them to equalize. 3 when you adjust the temp it takes 24 hours to regulate. Don't make huge adjustments at one time or you will end up with frozen eggs and cucumbers( I know from experience... Lastly you are creating a dream kitchen. It is going to be great for you

Highly, highly recommend a freeze dryer! We LOVE ours. A couple things to consider is having a dedicated space to store all the accessories (bags, heat sealer, pump oil, etc.) right where you will have the dryer, and a work surface close by for bagging things immediately. Also, the noise factor should be considered. It is not super loud, but the pump does make noise, and it is a constant noise for 2 to 4 days (depending on what you are drying). This might be a concern on days you are filming. Another thing to think of is where would the hose drain into during the freezer thawing process?
@mwcmwc87682 жыл бұрын
Thrilled for you, Jamerill!! One suggestion: Can the counter that you extend for the freeze drier be dropped down lower than the counter it is connected to? This way the machine won’t block your window?❤️

Hello jamerril , i watched your vacation video yesterday and loved it , it got me thinking and i have a suggestion if i may that might make packing for your next trip a little easy , at least i hope so . You can get one of those big organizations tote , and make a list of the essentials you need for cooking when traveling , like your slow cooker your frying pan and all your condiment and stick that list on the inside of the lid . So next time your travel you do not need to think about it you can just check the list pack it up in no time and wont forget a thing ever again . Sorry if i am overstepoing , hope it helps

Not a good place for one, you have to be able to access the drain valve which is in the lower side panel near the back corner of the machine. You have to have enough clearance for the water to drain into something you can remove and dump. You also cant put in a place that you wont have good ventilation for the pump.
