So many years ago Mayor Daily in Chicago planned to replace O'Hare airport with a brand new airport just one mile off the Chicago Loop in Lake Michigan. The new "island" would be built with the residue of Chicago's trash which would be formed into bricks measuring 40" x 20" x 20". Set in a large rectangle, then filled with sand pumped in from surrounding lake bottom. Eventually the project stalled, amid many complaints of fraud, mismanagement, etc.

Many power plants evaporate water into steam that spins the turbines. That water is distilled. Why aren’t we using that water in combined power and water plants? It seems so obvious but I’ve never heard that explained.

Strong Work Ethic and their Economy will save them. It is an embarrassment the U.S. spends its Tax Dollars every way but sensibly. Your Comment on Airports is so true. Sorry, but the architect has disappointed me... "a bicycle tire?!!" It is a missed opportunity of the greatest kind. Why not shape it the top of a commercial airplane? It has already a side building (a wing) and the bridge to the next Iceland could have been shaped as the second wing. :-)

This position involves a lot of knowledge and training to enable other officers to avoid this kind of things from happening. However, it does happen from time to time and it is possible. I cannot fathom how this happens but I do know it occasionally does It seems that DiSantos made the right call here but only time will tell.

We must never forget that The Soviets put missiles on Cuba because the US put missiles on Soviet borders first.... Nor should we forget that the US actually put troops on the ground in Russia in the 1920s, along with Britain Australia and other countries..
@Objectified
@Objectified 9 ай бұрын
The U.S. put missiles in Italy and Turkey as a deterrent to Soviet invasion of their NATO allies. Soviet invasion of Western Europe, preventing that invasion, and the ability to respond to and stop that invasion were central to ALL of Europe outside the Soviet Union. The Soviets forced nuclear missiles on Cuba because it was the only land from which it could deploy its limited range missiles to hit all of the U.S. Krushchev's reign was ended shortly after due to the failure of action and to his decision to initiate the crisis.
@adriaandeleeuw8339
@adriaandeleeuw8339 9 ай бұрын
@@Objectified nice try.. The USSR didnt put nukes onto Cuba, and they actually had nukes on the Missiles....the US did not know that for over forty years....however they refused to give Castro control of the nukes . Be clear Khruschev got what he wanted the removal of those nukes from Turkey and Italy. there would not have been a crisi but for the US placing them there in the first place....Also dont forget that the US has in the past put troops on the ground fighting in Vladivostok and also Western Russia. Now I distrust Russia as far as I can throw it, but never claim the US is as pure as the driven snow....one only has to look at the skullduggery it has performed over the years and the consequences we have had to bear because of their actions.

As usual someone has to jump in and defend Boeing....again. Airbus made this announcement because Boeing has gotten close to testing a full scale demonstrator. This video mentions Boeing's plan for a 737 replacement as a footnote, and aircraft that will almost surely arrive before 2035. Okay. Airbus continues to dominate Boeing in the narrowbody sector, but continues to have its lunch eaten in widebody. But hey, what Airbus fan wants to hear that? Right. I said it before and I'll say it again. Airbus will still be busy delivering a massive backlog when Boeing delivers its first all new narrowbody aircraft since the 757, and Airbus will copy whatever works best about the aircraft to also scramble to build a competitor because nobody will want a re-engined A320neo neo. As usual, we'll see what happens.
