I like the clean look of the custom built dj stand. No cables showing. Cleaaan

Thanks!! It was homemade. Though I still have to paint the stand for the new XDJ-700's as well as hide the cables for those.

Gotta love doing those long transitions. Progressive from this era is especially suited for doing that. 😀

@@despawnmusic You’re doing an exceptional job my friend. Smooth transitions and great attention to detail with those gainer knobs. 👍

@@despawnmusic i remember, 2008 I completely stopped buying techno vinyls and switched to house and progressive.... I still regret selling my vinyls... At least I kept my 1210's Miss the good old days from 2000 to 2010... Check my channel, I have a couple of mixes....

brother I love the mix, we spin nearly the same era of progressive on vinyl! love to hear the old bedrock record tracks, 10:30 is insane

Thanks man! Love the dark and raw vibe of that era. They don't really make music like that anymore.

Just picked up a PLX-500 for listening purposes and was reading reviews saying it’s no good for mixing. Looks like you had no trouble at all! Incredible mix. Any reason to go for the PLX-1000 or are you happy with the 500?

They are o.k. I guess. Not great. If I need to adjust I usually try to ride the pitch-fader because if you touch the platter too much it can go out of sync even more. Like it tries to compensate for the slowing down for instance. So they're not optimal, but for home use I guess they are perfect. Eventually you get used to the downsides of cheaper gear like this.

The mix at 36:50 he worked really hard for it and ended up dropping it bad.. it was a bad mix.. could have mixed the track way earlier and would have been a much smoother mix rather than a sudden loud bang.. but great job with the track selection and kudos for sticking w the vinyl.. nothing like the feel of the vinly when spinning.. i wud take this over any other platform like the cdjs or software based sets
@despawnmusic2 ай бұрын
Yeah I nearly fucked that one up, had to keep adjusting. But to be honest I thought the contrast of dropping the kick of the next track like that worked quite well :) But maybe there was also some volume difference between the tracks that made the drop a bit loud. I agree that vinyl will stick for the long term and possibly will become even more popular even with younger generations. Loads of people prefer vinyl over digital for all kinds of music.

How do you record the audio?
@despawnmusic9 ай бұрын
Unfortunately my mixer has no record-out, so i connected the main output directly to the line-in of my PC and recorded in Audacity while making sure the master level was not clipping in Audacity.
