Mines worked , I had it plugged in for a minute or two then started the car up and it beeped

Did you plug it in with the car running? Or should it be off? Mine is not working.

I would connect the unit, then start the vehicle. But it will work.

I connected it just like the instructions said and got nothing, but I accidentally had my car on and put it in the port and it worked. Shut car off when I realized it was on than turned car back in and viola worked.
