There is such a thing as righteous anger. And this kid sets that off, should be no apology needed for it.

In your anger, do not sin.

Wow. Brandon makes some great points! I have a lot of thinking to do
@jrett026Сағат бұрын
Eric says Brandon’s view on Christ is “dangerous.” But in what way? When I watch this video I see far more signs of the fruit of the Spirit in Brandon who is kind, generous, composed, gracious, and humble. Eric is obviously agitated. Planning his own response instead of listening, and even taking backhanded shots at Brandon indirectly calling him an unbeliever.

The premise underlying Eric's final, hypothetical question (which he says he thinks about a lot), and Brandon's response to it, perfectly represents the contrast between these two guys and their contrasting beliefs: Eric's beliefs are based in works (compliance with set of beliefs/believing the "right" thing about a particular moral issue), and Brandon's beliefs are based in grace. This in fact the same dynamics that have been present among religious people since Jesus's time. Yes, faith without works is not true faith, but looking how both these men interact throughout this and other interviews, the fruit of the spirit (such as love, joy, patience, kindness, and gentleness) is clearly more present in one of them, so judge for yourself.

@48:00 He says these there are writings on the wall from first half of first century that say Jesus is God? I am having trouble finding a scholarly source for these , does anyone have info about these Capernaum church inscriptions and datings?

Thanks for watching. One source to check out would be “The House of St. Peter at Capharnaum” by Virgilio Corbo

@@erichuffman1369 Interesting. The research I found says that the inscription reads that Jesus is "the Holy One of God".

@@revbrandanrobertsonnot sure where you’ve looked so far, but there’s been an abundance of research on the 150+ inscriptions on the walls of the Capernaum house church. Some are older than others, and their messages range from the lordship of Jesus and cries for his mercy to references to the Eucharist etc.

@@revbrandanrobertsonYeah, twisting the words of the Bible to your preference isnt exacly good.

See 22:45. He makes his position very clear. It’s only inconsistent if he holds to inerrancy and then ignores a plain reading of the text. Calling him a liar or claiming that he’s twisting God’s word mischaracterizes your issue with what he’s saying. Really, you’re trying to argue that the Bible is inerrant and univocal, so that’s what you should focus on. Attacking the person is usually a last resort indicating that you don’t know how to defend your position.
@ultramarinechaplain882 күн бұрын
@seanpierce9386 im focusing on him as an individual because i have seen enough of his arguments which is mostly just "argument from silence". By that definition i could say Jesus never spoke on bestiality therefore Jesus condones it. Ridiculous. Yes the bible was written by men but christians view it as innerant, not perfect but innerant. Brandon impresses his sexuality on to the bible(this is what progressive christians do) rather than letting the bible speak for itself. The bible unequivically condemns same sex marriage, wether loving or no. Christ Himself quotes the OT in a question regarding marriage, that "God made them male and female" From the beginning. So no im not attacking him personally because i cant engage his arguments. But i have seen enough of it to conclude he feels he himself is the only one knowledgable enough to interpret the bible any which way he pleases even going so far as to say pauls writing can be dismissed

Brandon is still choosing sin over Savior - justifying against scripture makes it that much worse.
@seanpierce93862 күн бұрын
Okay, let’s assume that it is sinful. That would imply that it’s hurting someone in the process in a way that’s possible to avoid. So, four questions: 1. Who is it hurting? 2. Is it avoidable? 3. Are the impacts of avoidance worse than the original consequences? 4. If it wasn’t in the Bible, would we think twice about it? It’s worth noting that he’s experienced this and you haven’t. He’a tried the traditional solution and found that it didn’t align with his experience of the problem. I find blaming people for sin disregards any nuance and ends up hurting people.
