I just started playing and have gotten two royale wins. I just play like I would in borderlands. Upgrade while moving Keep out of sight until I have a shot If I'm spotted, keep moving until I can turn it around on them or they lose interest Don't waste ammo on long shots They aren't the best rules for this, it is a different game after all, but if you want to play defensively then it works pretty good.

I'm 40 and my first (and probably last) try of Fortnite went something like this: "Updates and updates... finally. How small are these text, I can't see a thing. This is meant to be played with smartphone, right? I need a magnifying glass. Oh there's a play-button. What, no tutorial? What is that countdown? Am I supposed to do something now or just wait until the game starts? What's that.. it jumped and now floats? What's this, a parachute? Oh so I'm falling. I can toggle parachute on and off? I don't think that's how parachutes work, but nevermind. This is taking too long. Oh, I can take parachute off and dive? Ok, I'll do that. Okay, I'll go there, seems nice and quiet, maybe pull out the chute in the last moments. Well I landed. How do I move.. oh, right turns and left thumb runs. What, I got a pick axe? Is this a tool or a weapon? Don't we get firear... oh snap, I think that tiny text just said that someone killed someone with a submachine gun? And now sniped, they have sniper rifles? This is like everyone kills everyone I've heard. How am I going to go there with a pick axe, they have smg's and sniper rifles, and I can't even walk straight. The most sensible thing is to hide. Here behind this tree, now is there some inventory, maybe I need to select a real weapon somewhere... No, are they lying around? But I can't go up there, there are maniacs running around with machine guns and sniper rifles! Hey, is there someone coming here? Has he seen me behind this tree? He's not hunting treasures, he's here to kill me, right? No way, I'm shutting this game down before I get killed. There. What an ordeal. That wasn't a very nice game". ..and I did not get any wiser after watching this video. Is there a video for like, grandma's how to play this game?

Just play the no build mode, its much more straight forward and less gimmicky. You change skins in the locker section of the menu. Skins are bought through the store menu. What's available rotates every so often. The battle pass is in the store. As you gain XP through play you get battle pass currency to unlock tiers. Each tier gives you a new skin or cosmetic. You can bank up this currency before buying then use them later if you like.

as someone with 26000 hours in Minecraft, using 64 in game sensitivity, converting this to Fortnite greatly improved my aim and I would recommend all new players to try and do the same.
