My Mom said you can grill any fish and use that or leave it out as well. I never knew there was smoked fish in there until I saw Mom making it 😂

I just remembered that they sell smoked fish powder at the store. So if you don’t want to buy the whole fish or they don’t have it then maybe look for the smoked fish powder. If you google it put in “Thai smoked fish powder” it comes in a jar so look in the sauce isle.

I’m not sure but I don’t think so because the name itself is because it was made using prohok. If kapi is used maybe there is a different version with a different name?
