I was hoping you could help me, I've uploaded the file to the Steam Workshop and subscribed to it however the Model is an error and is displaying this error message in Console: "Model missing: models/player/regwan/arcanine_pm/player_Arcanine.mdl_reference.mdl" So did I miss a step?

Timbleweebs How do the hatboxes work then do they automatically setup or do I have to make a hitbox.smd

NibblyBitz Well, they're automatic, so to speak. I guess you could say that the playermodel skeleton is bound to a hitbox already, so when you attach a model to it, it also uses that hitbox. From what I've seen almost nobody bothers with the hitboxes when making playermodel unless the model's shape is drastically different from a human form.

Timbleweebs Yeah I wanted to make my own player model for a ttt server I mod on. The problem is they check the hatboxes to see if they are reasonable enough to shoot. Thanks for the help with the model I'm doing it shouldn't be an issue :D nice tutorials keep them up very informative.

Timbleweebs I have another question, do you haft to have the exact same amount of bones for different player models or is it up to me. For example say I model a dog player model can I have 4 leg bones and a body and tail bone and one head bone would that work?

NibblyBitz I have never tried messing with models that have no humanoid form. Mainly because of the massive amount of extra work there is. If you were to make a dog playermodel with extra bones, you would need to design an animation set for it, since the only available default animation sets are human animations. You would also need to list every single custom bone into the .qc file, and possibly even add joint constraints and a custom collision model.

Timbleweebs But don't be discouraged if you have happened to get this far with a dog playermodel. Even if it does not work out, you can always release it as a ragdoll or as a model for use in animations for SFM.
