As a person who has to travel over the existing bridge daily I can tell you the new bridge can't come soon enough. Although, did anyone else notice the omission of the toll booths? Maybe they thought that bit of CGI might not look so good on the promotion video. KEEP THE BRIDGE TOLL FREE!

I've lived and worked in Runcorn and Widnes in the 43 years I have lived in Halton, but I won't be shopping in Widnes if I have to pay a toll for the privilege of crossing the bridge. I will go to Warrington or travel through Warrington to get to Widnes and let them complain about the extra traffic.

Well, 9 years on and 3 years since it opened and there’s hardly any greenery alongside the route of the bridge.

This has been needed for many years, but should NOT be tolled, out of the 14 London Thames crossings only the Dartford is tolled, mainly to get some money out of continental vehicles,that use our roads for free. What's good for theSouth is good for the North.

Residents of Runcorn and Halton DO NOT HAVE TO PAY THE TOLL.... only those of us commuting from Widnes, Liverpool etc HAVE TO PAY THE TOLL... AND... it will be done Via license plate detection to save time... Of course by 2017 I will have found a new job outside of Halton, which I commute to every morning.. Likewise I know MANY MANY other people who will also leave their jobs in Halton/runcorn as a direct result of both bridges being tolled.. So I think the real agenda here is to remove non residents of Halton/runcorn to free up jobs for the mass unemployed in this area... just a thought really..

Whilst the old bridge will be reworked to see residential traffic only you will be soon faced with the most heavily tolled river in the country two tunnels and soon two bridges ready to take your money just so you can see your family go to work or just for a day out every time you cross that river you are lining pockets and I know it needs running and it all costs, but does it have to we've had a good link that now can not keep up but the whole time it's never charged me.

It is real because I live in Halton and the bridge is a post to be up 2017 so we need to drain water out for the main support but we do a big circle with supports so we can go in and dig out all of the sand then do it 2 more times so do some research

ThE coBra x sLayer 112 I think shes saying they cut too many down before they started work which is true, although they said twice as many will be replanted after construction
