fnaf became too focused on stereotypically scary designs with needle teeth and claws so i like that you kept your animatronics naturally, well, unnatural: marketably cute but dead enough to avoid eye contact

I personally headcanon that the team behind Jackie's wanted him to originally be female, but Francis made them scrap the idea because It would've made the place "too girly" and not appeal to a general audience, so he had them change Jackie to a male. But instead of just forgetting about it, they ran with the idea of him canonically being FtM as a cute little reference to that scrapped idea. Idk, just something silly I thought of.

@@pablopablo1620 Well...as a trans girlie, i'd agrue trans ppl have always existed before, historically and internationally. The 50s had Christine Jorgensen, who's transitioning became public and well documented (same with Roberta Cowell to some extent), the 1920s had both Dora Ritcher AND Lili Elbe as one of the first gen to get sex re-assignment surgery. Tracy Morgan, Marie "Bambie" Pierre Pruvot, heck Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera who were not only actively advocating our rights, but all 4 wonderful women had their times *in* the 70s. So saying what u js said felt a lil closed minded. (this is not to attack u, i try to educate a lil :>) Even outside the US, trans communities have always existed like in my dear country 🇸🇬. Example; Bugis Street was the melting pot for them to shine and do extravagant night parades! It usually attracted the sailors who visited our ports and pretty much performed like modern drag. All goes well from the 50s, 60s, 70s, until around the 80s where they had to deconstruct it for new structures and a significant part of SGLGBTQ was lost. you can still find all reliable sources from The Singapore Lgbt Encyclopedia wiki + on yt for references｡･☆ Lastly, i don't rlly see 1976:GO deeply grounded in real-life, so the creators have all the creative liberty/rights to include lgbtq+ rep to represent more of us and our hidden history : ^)

I don’t know exactly how an animatronic can be trans, but I am absolutely here for it. Trans masculine representation for the win! In all seriousness, I am deeply impressed by the sheer quality of animation on display, and the obvious love and tireless hours that clearly went into it. I am truly in awe of this pilot, and I have no doubt that it will inspire me for a long time to come. The film is a perfect mix of retro vibes and modern animation techniques that creates something truly special. Can’t wait to see what you do next!

@@bonfilmsytwhat he meant was that it’s actually shocking that someone would make their main animatronic character trans for that time period out in public as it wasn’t common nor is it here (as i have not heard any trans ones in any restaurants) like you would pain a big target when people found out and this was an age where the Lbgt group was not tolerated (they weren’t til like the 2000s)

⁠@@ryanlozano9086Well back then, it wasn’t exactly confirmed Jackie was transmasculine; only implied. Jackie being trans was always Daniel’s intention, he just wasn’t sure on how to present it. I can agree, queer media wasn’t as big back in the 70’s as it is now, but it’s fun adding these types of things into the past, especially when it helps with showing queer representation.
