Honestly it makes way more sense for Flight of Fear and I305 (Project 305) to have its own themed area rather than being a part of the Jungle X-pedition area. A space or even a military theme could work for the Flight of Fear and I305 area due to the parks close distance to Washington D.C. as well as a large military presence south of the city in Virginia.

guys nothing is gonna happen theres no way they are gonna redo the entire layout in like 1 month. they arent revert it to the old laout or add a 305 foot spike. Brandon always does this when a ride is announced to get redone. All that they will do is most likely give it a new paint scheme new theme and if your lucky a sped up cable lift.

Since, Flight of Fear is next to Intimidator 305, I think that the coaster will get a space theme. As for the track and supports, I could see it being light blue and black.

I agree with the possibility of i305 getting a space theme but in my eyes it still won’t represent what the ride was originally made for anymore. Height and speed was tied in with race cars for a reason, the only thing close to that that’s related to space is maybe a rocket or the speed of light or something like that

When Cedar Fair announced that kings island would get a giga, everyone was between the names Orion and Polaris. So what if Kings Dominion renames I305 to Polaris and it would change to a space theme like he mentioned

Polaris is no longer an active trademark. CF usually tends to trademark multiple names for new big projects when deciding what to name a ride. They did the same thing for Fury 325 when they trademarked Fury and Centurion which Centurion still hasn't been used.

In my honest opinion, Intimidator 305's name should be kept. I mean, what other names could they rename it with. The only thing I would change is the layout like you said like I think they should have the train going down the lift hill, turning slightly to the right, and then going up one long airtime hill and swoop down to the left and then go up that rising curve where you would gray out. Then riders would have to worry about the forces being pulled on their heads. And what I would do is remove the brakes on that rising curve because the extended beginning will keep the speed low enough to where those brakes wont be necessary. The rest of the layout shouldn't be changed because I think its fun the whole way through, especially those twists.

I figure this year any changes will be minimal. I think will see a repaint/retheme of the ride to remove any and all Dale Earnhardt and racing references from the plaza. An idea that I thought of, that I’m kinda surprised no one has thought of, is that if some will remember back when Kings island was building Orion they filed two names: Orion, and the other was Polaris. I wonder if Cedar Fair would consider reusing this trade mark filing if they still own the rights to that name Polaris. It would be interesting since I really have my doubts that Project 305 will be the final name, I think it’s more of a placedholder. However, it would be cool to see some kind of space theme since I don’t think it’s practical or likely that the park rethemes flight of fear, since I figure there would be a lot of work with that kind of project to erase all the space theming. I could see KD renaming the smaller area where I305 and FOF stands as Area 75, since KI’s is Area 72 which coincides with the year the park opened. I even thought, could they reposition the arch tunnel sign with the Intimidator 305 logo to open up from the path over by Anaconda and repaint it to say Area 75 with a spacey logo like Area 72’s sign by racer at KI. I think we may see some minor set pieces in 2025, as I don’t know if the park will have the time to hone in completely on theming unless it’s already been in the works since the off season. I feel like the trains will likely not see much change, and my reason is because of the amount of force the ride exerts on riders compared to that of the B&M gigas and Millennium Force. I thought it would be an interesting idea, but the more I think about it, with the current lack of ridership the coaster already gets i figure they’ll probably leave the over the shoulder restraints. Since you mentioned the ride modifications, if they keep the restraints the same they may be able to keep the layout un trimmed, however if they do modify the way it runs, they may change the train design to include new seats or restraints like Skyrush. Sorry for the long comment, that’s just some of my thoughts.

Polaris is not an active trademark anymore. Typically Cedar Fair files multiple trademarks when working on a new large project mainly when deciding what to name a ride and they choose one and abandon the other. They did the same thing with Fury 325 when both Fury and Centurion were trademarked.

It would be interesting to see if any executives or creative may come back to that name given the circumstances are similar in terms of the theming aspects if they were to go down the Space theme route. However, it’s up in the air and I don’t know what decision they’ll arrive at. The reason I am leaning space theme is the followup task of retheming Flight of Fear since it’s been a staple at the park prior to the creation of I305 and even Volcano by a few years. I feel like changing the theme would be a tougher task given people know it by its identity as a top secret laboratory where aliens are being kept, and they seemingly have technology they’re experimenting with to discover flight patterns of UFOs. At least that’s how I perceived the theme when I’ve visited Kings island and Kings Dominion and looked at the theming in the Que areas. I know before the Cedar Fair acquisition both coasters were themed to a tv show known as the outerlimits which I think was a sci-fi tv series. I feel like the space theme makes more sense for those two, since they’re a little bit away from the actual jungle expedition area and Anaconda. Backlot I think will get a retheme to be a jungle tour and the trains will likely get redone, along with minor theming pieces around the Queue.

The only modifications to the roller coaster itself that I'd be interested in seeing are the trim break on the second to last hill being removed and potentially the first turn returning to how it was when it first opened, but I don't think anyone is expecting either one of these to happen; especially the second one.

I would love for them to do some custom landscaping and maybe some tunnels. That would be cool regardless of what name or theme they give it. As for the theme, that corner is a bit of a mess and I don't know if they can feasibly make that work. I mean Sci-Fi would be great but that area would still need a lot of work to give it cohesion. I do think a redo of Backlot Stunt Coaster into a Sci-Fi or post-apocalyptic theme would be pretty easy. But Anaconda would still be out of place and unless they just want to retheme 3 rides with a Sci-Fi theme I don't see the area making sense. And they'd have to come up with a very clever transition area to avoid bizarre sight lines with a bunch of space stuff next to the jungle.

I still standby the idea of having it tiger themed and giving it the name the "tiger pounce" with speakers and a bit of quiet jungle theming on the ascent and when you go off the drop you hear a huge roar like your train is the tiger and the drop is a pounce on the tigers prey. If they don't like that then just just rename it to the 'Intaminadator' 😆😆😆

If they truly wanted to go the space themed route just simply rename intimidator to Orion like at KI. Orion at KI was a last minute addition to that park as it was originally intended for CGA but got relocated when CGA couldn't get zoning approval for the project....this explains why it's not actually 300 feet tall so therefore doesn't even qualify as a giga coaster. Project 305 is simply a place holder name until cedar fair comes up with something else....the only other attraction that needs to be rethemed is backlot stunt coaster. Keep in mind that they still have two or three additional animal "temples" to go before finishing the jungle X storyline with project 25 definitely themed around a bird so that leaves a tiger and snake as the remaining two. Speaking of project 25 it looks like the park has brought in some heavy equipment to begin clearing the site for the new attraction.

This is cedar fair we're talking about here. They're obviously gonna call zamperlamin up and bring back "the turn" and add a 305' tall spike with a quick switch track. The train will then traverse the rest of the layout backwards into a turn table at the station. Oh and the lift hill will be a tunnel cause space theme 😂🎉 also the ⚡ 🚂 will be used.

A side note it is surprising how much cedar fair has given this park over the past 7 years considering its spot in the pecking order of cedar fair parks and the market it is in and Carowinds really isn’t getting the investments being in a bigger market and bring the bigger park. Just food for thought. I get that BGW is about an hour away but your core parks need to be taken care off.
