Mine is 1981, previous owner says he rode it last year for the first time, stored it, drove it to storage but, no fire he says too start up. Raining outside now, have it covered and can’t wait too have a look at it tomorrow, paid $750 Canadian so I’m willing too pump money into the ol girl too have her ready for next summer 😜👍

hey whats your email i have some questions about my kawasaki 1997. its not a crotch rocket its more like big daddy. has mostly harley parts. the guy i got it off of says that the 2nd gear doesnt work. he said i have to downshift once then upshift 5 times. is there anyway i can fix the 2nd gear or can you kind of elaborate on how i should ride this suckker. i just turned 19 and this is my first bike. HELP NEEDED

I'm pretty sure I've spun a bearing and engine is locked up. Gonna see if mystery oil works! Definitely still going to check upper and lower bearings though.

If you've got a spun bearing the mystery oil probably won't do much. This engine was stuck from rust in the cylinders.... A spun bearing is pretty much welded into the crank and you might as well just pull it at start the teardown lol. Save the money for that 6 pack of beer you'll want for the engine removal job lol!

Great video, I'm trying to find out what is going on with my 81 900. I just bought the old gal and she runs great. Just idles around 3000 rpms so I pull the choke at a stop.

I'd pull those carbs off and get a rebuild kit. Go through them and replace jets and O-rings/gaskets, and make sure you're not getting any air leaks on the boots (airbox to carb and carb to intake). If she's not idling lower than 3k and you can't get it to go any lower you might be running pretty lean. When you add choke at a stop it's choking off air so much it's basically sputtering from too much fuel when warm. If you've got good airflow and good fuel flow, with no air leaks, she will run a lot better.

@@MotoMedic Awesome! I have a 1982- CB900F with a no spark situation on all plugs? I have been testing with meter most of the electrical components and been watching all kinds of you tube videos on the subject! I was hoping your bike was up and running or if not now hopefully in the near future when it is, I could really use some information on it when it's running if you wouldn't mind?
