Project Backmarker EF Civic Goes from Rough D15 to Clean B17
By Aaron Gaghagen and Brian Gillespie
This is the whole story of Brian's EF Civic hatchback. It started as a cover car with a few issues. Of course a non-running stock engine is all the motivation needed to get to work. This is everything so far and we aren't going to stop because project cars are never finished. It may have appeared that Project Backmarker came together quickly, but it happened over a couple of years because, you know: life. Let's get everyone caught up with this special mega episode featuring Project Backmarker.

My first car was a 2000 Civic EX, and it's treated me well! Even to this day! But my heart really does belong to the 88-91 civic hatches, a shame that a lot of them have become harder to find/thrashed! Absolutely beautiful car you have, jealous I might be!!

You're over the 100k mark, congratulations. It is Well deserved. I loved this long upload. Makes me want to work on my B18C EF more often than I do, because I don't😪 PLEASE do an episode of canyon driving. It's my favorite place to drive "spiritedly" or as I like to call it "leisurely" aka as quick as possible while still being as safe as possible. It was also cool to see Brian on film, the mans a legend & very helpful.

I have been using Duplicolor high heat engine paint with ceramic in low gloss black. It is the most amazing paint I have been using for years for all kinds of projects. Painting bike frames. Car trim and wiper arms. Fishing reels. Follow the directions exactly! If you don’t finish your coats within specified time it will wrinkle. Other than that it’s so easy to use. And a lovely oem finish.

I've been a victim of a bad thermostat ground. Not fun to troubleshoot haha. Figured it was my fuel pump at first but i ran 12v to it and it worked! Found out it had no spark when it still didn't fire up after. Crazy how just one ground wire could cause so much trouble! Lol

🤤🤤😍🤤🤤😍🤤🤤 absolutely love this Ef! My Honda heart belongs to the 90 Si Ef hatch I bought my senior year of high school in 2002 and drove for 14yrs and popped 4 single jingles and locked up 1 until i swapped in a B18a1 from a 93 GS Integra the last couple years I owned it! Man it was a torquey lil ripper! I miss it sooooo damn much! This black one you have looks 98% same except no sunroof! Def wanna see more of yours as she lives!
