What kind of reality show is this? Everyone is nice to eachother, the contestants build eachother up intead of saying mean things behind eachother's backs, the judges say positive and constructive things, it presents a physically and culturally diverse group of women showing off their beauty and creativity, and the people who don't win have good attitudes and are happy for the winners? I want to know what planet this kind of reality show comes from, and then I want to build a spaceship and go live there.

Specially among women who are competitive and entirely hate each other. That's the beauty of bellydance. It helps women to love their bodies and enhances teamwork. You don't have to crush the other competitors, you help them improve their dance.

They chose random music for us and as professionals some of us had come across the music before. I myself never heard my music but some other dancers got lucky and were familiar. Plus improv doesn't mean you have never heard the music before, it means you are not dancing to a choreography. Most Belly Dance is done to music that has been around for a long time.

I think Yvonne took the best photos. In my opinion Kasia, Andalee, Lara, Shiraz and Shems danced best, they got talent. You can see that they really have their hearts in their dancing, so much concentration.

It's not an improv if they listened to the song before. And I can tell they did.

Most of them didn't. Didn't you notice how they put the wrong moves sometimes (likesinuous moves when it was a folkloric rhythm), how the finale took lots of them by surprise, etc etc.? Now, of course it may have happened that a few of them HAD heard that song sometimes in the course of their career. How many "obscure" pieces can there be? But most of the pieces had a similar structure: they started with dynamic entrance (only a couple started with a taqsim), had a middle part which varied among them, and they all (if I'm not mistaken) ended with a tabla solo.
