Arblast is the older english spelling of arbalest. A steel limbed crossbow. The larger arbalests were able to punch deep into stone walls of castles (as shown by archaeological finds of bolt heads imbeded in castle walls). It implies high alpha but slow reloads.

This has very quickly became my favorite tank. Previous favorite was the HSTV-L and now there is a version with high alpha and siege mode. Absolutely incredible.

I tried it out yesterday. I'm kinda glad that its not an SPG artillery as it seemed to be initially that does indirect fire like in WoT but more like the Swedish S-tanks but with a turret. This is definitely not as mobile a sniper like Jager nor as hard-hitting as Ray, though the turret does seem to be a bit tougher though with a rather tall silhouette which is useful for being able to peak and shoot over cover but it does attract attention and fire in return. Remains to be seen what sort of upgrades it'll get further in development if it leans into the firepower or survivability aspect.

I wish WoT SPGs were turned into glass-cannon type tank destroyers. War Thunder also introduced many artillery pieces over they years and they mostly play like high-caliber long-range tank destroyers!

@@bugbuster8598 the relatively shorter engagement ranges and faster pace gameplay of PCW there'd be no place for something like the SPGs of WoT (thank goodness), and indirect or off-map assets/abilities that can be called in better fits (though the handling is still a bit wonky at times)

I think it is the other spelling of Arbalest, like the crossbow type. A crossbow with a winder or something, idk it was in Age of Empires at some point.

Interesting vehicle this is... It is a cold war chinese self-propelled anti-tank gun from 1980's, the PTZ-89 (Type 89 tank destroyer)... though here it got a really weird gun...

Strange "tank" that is a mobile artilleri piece, it should have a 3 person view and like fire away in an area with lesser accuracy but high damage, and 1 perk shoud be rapid fire, like 3-5 shells in one area, or a perk that tighten the accuracy with "lase guided" shell but you have to load that round so it has a longer reload but it hits like truck, it could have an option where you on the fly can change from AP to HE 1 target or many or smok barrage to help hide allies or a move from the team. The one thing I noticed that youre doing is pushing that vehicle forward in a fight. Its a support vehicle. I stay as far back as possible and use siege mode from cover, let them get in your crossfire, dont let them force you to come to them which is why you was getting hammered in the 2nd conquest match. I did that with Jager and got hammered. I also realized that being a support vehicle that setting a support by fire position behind the Dirt mounds outside A or by the Front end loader between A and B in the mounds is best. You got a huge field of fire that you can engage targets from. When I run in the Jager for example, I drop a decoy and then move to another area, pop my ability to see who is within my scan range and it will also reveal to the rest of the team as well and then move to a position where I can engage from. all the support vehicles are tin cans with great guns.

I dunno Notser, but it isn’t up to me. I played WoTs and WoWs for several years, but really sucked at them compared to others, but I still watch replays every day. This games seems to me to be a game for add and adhd sufferers. Seems to be a game of single players, no organised play, no platoons or divisions no teamwork to speak about. When we update our 14 year old computer and it goes public might give it a try, but not likely. Hopefully it doesn’t go the way of World of Warplanes, that was disastrous. As a trained pilot and having flown some of the planes they offered in the beta, I can tell you they weren’t even in the same country, let alone ball park as the real world aircraft. Your reload through the perks is much lower than the aim time in siege mode. The bloom after firing goes down to the initial size after around 5 sec. If you only gonna snipe, the aiming time perk might be better. In the loadout menu, press F to go to the firing range and you can test it.

Basically its an STRV- 103B without the ability to move in siege mode as the 103B can move at turtle speed but its extremely accurate. I like the Jager better. I will try the HSTV-L on the next iteration. If you set up Jager correctly that huge chunk you took would be the end result of the setup. Jager can literally one shot a target if he can hit you in a critical spot which he did crit you but wasnt enough. The other thing I like to have on Jager is the ability to proximity spot all enemy vehicles with one of the manual abilities

I do think the alpha increases to 1k / shot in siege mode. doing 800-900 non crit damage to long range targets doesn t feel like you have 750 / shot

I personally go for Increased aim time for the 2nd perk and accuracy for 1st perk. The reload is nice but the aim time is really long. The gun literally still aiming even when the round has been loaded, so increased reload speed on this thing is absolutely unnecessary.

Its pronounced ar·ba·lest that's ar like a pirate not a-r. :P Although if you want to pronounce it the old English way just drop the r and say a•bla•st. You do have to add an extra syllable in there for no good reason though.

I don't know it behave as artillery it could be it has no armor it looks like one it doesn't really shine it's not special if you play versus some good player your dead really fast
