It's most likely being incorporated into the next game, that's what the initial reports were after it was cancelled for Infinite.

My money is that Ekur is an extraction shooter cause a Helldivers/Starship Trooper Extermination esc extraction mode would fit Halo better than a BR mode. Also it would kinda create a fully realized version of the Global Battle. Also would not be surprised if it’s also gonna have traditional MP now, I think it’s more than likely that there’s gonna be one MP game that’s supported like Infinite was supposed to be.

Nice, this is hopium. Would be great to get a stand alone multiplayer game that works well and supports a large mode.

remember, Klobrille predicted a halo mp standalone game for later this year, back in december 2023/janurary 2024. i do believe he got the date wrong, because he believed it would be released in september this year

I do think at this point, they should separate the MP & campaigns. Different teams with shared tribal knowledge & assets using UE5

"For Some reason" does everyone forget the sheer amount of disdain the Halo community had about a Potential BR mode a few years ago? (Personally I still don't approve the idea when in my opinion they haven't even released a content complete game that the majority enjoy)

The best thing to happen to any the reputation of almost any game in development Hell is cancellation. Because then people will only be able to talk about it's "potential" and how it would've been a "game changer". When if it came out chances are it would've landed with a thud.

@@ignaciom8906 I’ve been playing halo since 2001. Halo doesn’t need a battle Royal, it needs a functioning game, and if you think otherwise you are the problem. Halo as a game hasn’t been developed properly for years, how can you hold a population? Let’s listen to the “Mr Battle Royal” expert and launch a game that doesn’t work with battle Royal added on to it. I’m curious who’s going to stick around to play that mess when there are plenty of other options.

This just all sounds like hearsay. Given the duress that 343 has been under it makes no sense to me that CA is actively working on anything Halo related. Why would 343 layoff tons of their own employees just for a partner studio to be working on another Halo project? And besides that, CA has supposedly been working on something since around 2020 but has nothing to show for it yet!? Please. That would put any other dev out of business.

@@Dryvlyne CA was working on Tatanka in 2020 until 2022. They rebranded it to an unreal engine game (Project Ekur). CA works on multiple games, not just Halo. And 343 laid off the entire campaign/creative team which indicates content is being outsourced and they don’t need an entire campaign team anymore, especially if CA is developing a multiplayer game.
