Rare G&l bass.....thats all about El toro model.....from the first year in production in 1983.....this bass became a classic guru G&l model.....why?....beacouse they only made 1.300 in only 7 years.....and suddenly the production stop......i collect pre cbs fender basses and pre Ernie stingrays......but only this model El Toro have all Leos fender signature in one bass.......simple a leyend

That's awesome! If you happen to stumble across a box and don't know what to do with it, my wife and I started a custom guitar and bass building business because I'm not supposed to work while working on my health, and I'm sure we can find way to put anything to great use. Real soon looking to raise funds for certain charities which are very close to our heart and donating at first 5% and then 10% of every dollar we make for each year to these charities.

Had one of these El Toro basses, I bought the bass minus the "gutz" at Scotty's Music back in the 80's, some meds oriented "wizard" took the active/passive controls out and left, basically, a passive pot system. I had a good relationship with G&L they sent me a complete El Toro assembly for a fair price, replaced in the body, she was sooooo wonderful, I had to sell, unfortunately, part of my collection and sold an awesome El Toro!!!

I have a Tobacco Sunburst El Toro (E) took me a while to find one but it's my main instrument now, so vibrant, it almost plays itself, I have a Lynx too and am a big fan of the MFD sound.

@CLF Research - I've commented a few times on the El Toro update clips.... Bring it back :-) Just as in Field of dreams - "build it and they will come"!!!!

Bring back the bull!(and PLEASE address the shimming problem with the saddle lock bridge saddles being too tall! I've owned FOUR G&Ls with Saddle lock, some USA some tribute, all needed shims. I know some people get lucky but the saddles are too tall so the tolerances are just not wide enough to allow for variations in fingerboard planing.

Sooo.. what's the story on the slightly longer neck heel on the white bass vs the red period production model? Did the white body have a slightly deeper neck pocket for some reason?

It looks like the original SB2!! The passive version is even more like it! (the SB2) they were GREAT BASSES!! I really don't like the new version with the PJ pickups. They are just whinny sounding. Bring back the original SB2 Please!!!! They will sell!!!
