As a dad I envy you Bucky in the best way ever. I feel I'm a good dad but I wish I could be as cool as you are with your kids because that's the most precious thing in life. When i was young my friend Josh tried to siphon gas out of his moms car to put in his Buick Century and he stuck the hose in, but not into the liquid fuel so when he took a big inhale, he sucked in fumes and passed out next to his car. He woke up minutes later confused as hell lol

What a good dad. Teaching these girls more in a day than most dads teach their sons. Love the forsters. Yeah, that old gas is done for. Now that Forster just needs a lift, add some 6-piston brakes and maybe some more offroad rims and tires? Great first car!

Sweet! I love modded Fozzies. My first Subaru was a 2001 Forester (SF5) that I bought in January of 2006 with 48k miles on it. I didn't modify it much: just Swift springs, KYB GR-2 struts, heavier sway bars, strut tower bracing, upgraded brake pads, and a Kartboy short-shifter! I didn't do anything to the drive-train, but I'd swear it handled as well as any stock WRX. Such a fun and practical introduction to Subarus and the Subie community. This looks like it'll be a fun daddy-daughter project. I'd start with the 120k service, to include the timing belt. It'll be reliable for another 120k miles.

Nice! She's right. They are the perfect size. I picked up an 04 2.5x a couple years ago. Then I went through the car and fixed it up. It's a great little car and fun to drive.

Im just watching this and this makes me so happy. My first car was a 98 Forester 5 speed and I loved that thing so much, it had 240k miles and then my younger brother had it for a little longer. I wish I was able to get this car again and have it like new!!!

I'm up in Ventura, but if you want a set of SG Forester struts modified with adjustable Koni Yellow Inserts and progressive rate Sprint Sport springs, they're just taking up space around here...

I don't know about the SF Forester, but the SG Forester has a drain plug on both sides of the bottom of the fuel tank.
