Project G5 - Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator Install

The ZZP 2.5" downpipe made my car extremely raspy. I loved how loud it was, but it was just too raspy for my liking. This Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator toned down the rasp and made it a bit more quiet, but is still loud enough for my liking. By clamping in the resonator temporarily, I can test out different styles or brands to see what I like best.

I have a '96 Corolla 1.8 & I have long tube headers + new flex pipe, 2.25" cat & resonator, plus an ebay muffler with a 2.5" inlet (I have the 2.25" to 2.5" adapter) with dual 3" tips that's not installed yet but got a feeling I'm gonna need a ultra quiet resonator lol the resonator I got (can also be used as a muffler) looks kinda like a glasspack muffler lol

Sounds great now. Still rockin' a Magnaflow on my G5. Good on you for putting in the work on Bonnie, I'm afraid to spend too much $$$ on my G5 as it's slowly getting to that point of "Will this thing fall apart soon?".

I've spent alot so far but as long as you keep up with the maintenance and dont fall behind on replacing little things then these cars generally last quite awhile. I'm just about to roll over to 200,000 miles

Thanks! The volume level has increased a little bit as the resonator was breaking in but thats to be expected and still does the job!

Im looking for a solution to cut rasp on a catless V6 and this might be my answer. Seems like it cuts most of the harsh metallic slappy farty frequencies down and let's the actual note shine through while still sounding loud and powerful.

How does this work can I buy the parts online and have them weld it for me ? Or will the shop have to order it for you for them to install and weld

Yes you would buy it online and then bring it to a muffler shop and have them weld it in for you

I'd say try a flowmaster chambered muffler instead. Their chambered mufflers are better than borlas in my opinion

I just bought their Super 10 to try out. keeping the vibrant but using this as a muffler and something a little different for the tip. I'll be doing that soon

@@KrOnIc343 I thought the chambered ones were more raspy which is what I'm trying to avoid that's why I chose the borla since their stuffed then pair it with a proper resonator

Have you considered putting a supercharger off of a cobalt ss on Bonnie? Considering cobalts and g5s are compatible on pretty much everything

Way down the road, yes. Basically when it's not my daily driver anymore, I'm going to get the 2.2L turbo kit from ZZP. You could go the supercharger route as well, but I'm more of a turbo person

I was going to get the 1.0 pcm from them when I get the lsj throttle body. When I turbo it I will get a dyno tune instead of the 1.0

Basically eliminated it and still is doing a pretty good job of keeping the drone down today

Which one did you get inch wise? The higher the louder it is?

I got 2.5". But you should match that to the size of your exhaust. Going up in size will make it a little louder and deeper, but only if the whole exhaust is that size

BTW that dna motoring eBay exhaust is a nightmare. the muffler is absolute crap. even with a magnafloe and vibrant resonator. its fine and dandy at low rpm, but once you go past 4k, this godawful high pitched rasp comes in and its because of the crsppy design. im gonna go with zzp 2.5 catback soon. should of saved a 100 extra of so and went with zzp. always go with quality when it comes to to your build, even if you have to be patient and work hard and wait on it for some time. you'll be a whole lot happier in the end.

Yeah I found that out after running it through one winter. It fell apart so that is why I decided on cutting it up haha

@@KurtzyTube01 check out some of my videos under cars section. I suoercharged my G5 and am quite happy with it. I also have a Lt1 350 1995 Camaro z28 w cold air intake and 3.23 gears. The suoercharged 2.2 is comparable in performance to the corvette motor Camaro. Probably even a little faster. I have tons of videos of me being wild with both cars.

Omg I just installed a DNA motoring exhaust on my accord and that is way too loud inside the cabin. Would this help I believe is a 2.5 piping
