Project Gotham Racing 3 Video Review

Gaming Pastime reviews Project Gotham Racing 3 for Xbox 360.
Developed by Bizarre Creations and published by Microsoft Game Studios, Project Gotham Racing 3 was a launch title released for Xbox 360 in November, 2005. Despite some of its shortcomings, Project Gotham Racing 3 is fun to play and proves that the series still remains unique in the genre.

PGR is a very, very underrated series. They have really good "feel" in them.

I loved PGR3 and 4. Was blown away by the graphics at the time especially due to its photorealistic city scapes. Too bad they dont exist anymore.

I can vividly remember how I saw this game running on a demo unit of the x360 in a local gamestop and just couldn't believe my eyes. The game in cockpit view looked better than anything I had seen before, almost like real life. Looking at it today feels different of course! Anyway, weeks later I finally had enough money to buy the new Xbox together with this game. Took it home and played the hell out of it on a ridiculously small CRT TV. Good times and a great series, the successor was even better. As you mentioned, you could feel the rushed developed on this one. But the driving itself was amazing as always.

PGR series games have some interesting/weird looking forgotten or unicorn cars which were not present in most of other racing game which ngl is great.

Man I really miss this game series. PG4 is my favorite simcade of all time, I played it nonstop as a kid but it's such a shame microsoft scraped the series in favor of getting forza horizon more attention.

I still play this game. The online was the reason I got Xbox live. Man online lobby was amazing I met some cool people from over the world clean races and a lot of laughter........I miss those days so much

hope you keep it going to PGR4 - underrated gem whose weather effects hold up to this day IMO. wish it got a PC release so I could play it today

i think you can on PC, but not sure if the 360 emulator works with this game.

The visuals also suffered from the rush, PGR3 runs at 1024x600 with 2xmsaa vs. 1280x720 2xmsaa from PGR4.

if there were a good 360 emulator this would look amazing. Only thing holding this back is the low res. Looks really great for its time

btw I still can't get all the DLCs working on my modded Xbox 360 and I have to find the correct version to work with my dlcs

Geometry Wars Retro Evolved was one of the first Xbox Live Arcade games for the 360, so why is it in here?

because Bizarre Creation made both PGR3 and Geometry Wars so they added a minigame to the main series and did it for PGR4 in 2007. just like the minigames for Namco's Ridge Racer series games (RRPSP, RR6, RR7)
