I strongly approve of this First Taste! As Quill pointed out in his video - it seems that this game is set in like a late 80s early 90s setting when it wasn't that common for people to have their own copying machines etc. Just look at the amazingly impressive sizes of those CRT monitors!

So I just bought the game a few days ago, had a playthrough, and I was doing alright. That was until I realized I had no organization to my building and I couldn't keep track of where anything was. I saw you made this and within the first few minutes of your building, I was able to find a good mix between your style and my own. I've always loved your videos. Don't stop. Seriously, cause I'm disorganized as all hell and almost everything you've played has helped me find a better way to do things.

sandbox mode is awesome! ive built a gigantic skyscraper with a sercet bunker underneath ( away from services and the metro and train) ie build the floors below then delete them away leaving only a service elevator, was a good killer of 10hours!

Aavak is very much not a methodical profit-oriented tycoon player, Aavak is an entertainer and roleplayer who does things like build multiple competing food outlets solely because he wants to and because he has a thing about tea and coffee. If he were purely methodical, there'd never have been any lessening of rent, it would have been all efficiency, all the time - but that's not what we watch Aavak for.

I've never seen a methodical KZbinr. I guess planning and thinking are boring and talking and button mashing are better viewing, especially when it all goes horribly wrong. Though, maybe I'm biased. I just watched Mathas completely screw up Rimworld.

I've had this game for a couple of years or so on various platforms, and I've been playing it again a lot of late. It can be a bit different from platform to platform. The Switch version seems to funnel you into completing one scenario before it unlocks you into another, and I'm not too sure how many scenarios they have compared to other platfroms. I had forgotten that you can set the difficulity. I will have to check, but I think you can do that only on the PC version. I was looking at the tablet version and didnt' see it, unless maybe I'm missing something on the scenario intro screen. Just like so many others, I do find it addictive! I keep saying "I'll just fulfill one more objective...I'll build just one more set of hotel rooms..." and before I know it, 2 hours have past! I like that there are scenarios that are focused more exclusively on different aspects of the tower, like building a hotle, building an office highrise etc. and that you can choose a wider but less tall lot etc. I just wish it was a bit more flexible, a little less tricky in the hotel scenearios especially, when you do outdoor fountains, lobbies with ligthing etc. It's really unforgiving of undoing things and fixing mistakes in that regard.

I love this game, but it's easy even on "Hard" difficulty, provided you're willing to wait a couple of days at ever income threshold before expanding. And ya gotta lower the rent on your restaurants, 'cause they won't be making any money at first. Of course, like Sim Tower, you eventually make more money than you could possibly spend. In my main game, I'm just building towards my top floor, even though there's no cathedral to put there. Luxury suites are ABSURDLY profitable, even if they take two floors. Protip: On hard difficulty, the time it takes for your maintenance men to fix a broken water/gas/electric/phone/cable tv manifold is greater than the time it takes people to move out when they don't have it, so either always have an extra max capacity manifold in reserve or always have enough money in reserve to delete the malfunctioning object and buy a new one.

While I liked the idea behind SimTower, there was just not enough interesting choices to make and too few tools to work with (the lack of utilities for instance is glaring) - this looks like a genuinely worthy successor and it also expands the concept very nicely. Cool visuals as well.
