I think Oathmark has a lot of potential. Dragon Rampant is fantastic at allowing you to field any kind of force your collection can support.

That’s such a great draw for DR, on top of what I think are great, easy rules. I think OM has both going for it, although to a lesser degree. I think there’s room for both on my tabletop.

We've had Kings of War, which is all rank and file, since Warhammer FB disappeared.

I enjoyed your review. I think I’m going to look in to Dragon Rampant as well just to expand the use of my army.

I recommend it! It’s a nice way to use the same minis (and less of them) in another enjoyable way. DR is fun, simple to learn and quite open when building your army.

Ordered the Oathsmark book getting it soon. I will be playing it with my son's.

Thanks for the review, very informative :) I have both sets of rules, but todate have only played DR.

Osprey are a great company. My personal favourites from Osprey are Zona Alfa, Gaslands & Frostgrave.

Thank you for your review, very clear and covers the two games well. My local group likes to play multiplayer, usually 4 players. Which of these games would work best with 4 players?

I think I’ve seen DR work well with multiplayer, so definitely that one. OM is new, though, and has come out during a pandemic, so we haven’t seen it on the table as much as DR. I think it would work, but DR may be easier, especially with the ease of list building.

I've had my eyes on oathmark for a while, sadly no one in my area is interested in old school rank & flank wargaming. Dragon rampant on the other hand I think would be easier to get folk into.

Perhaps start with DR, because of its lower model count. Then move on to Oathmark when the armies are big enough. Let me get a few games of each played in the near future and we can see what length of play looks like.

Thanks a lot! That's exactly the info I want :)

I like Dragon Rampant. Never tried Oathmark but love Frostgrave from the same guy. For me the "mix your own faction" in Oathmark is a negative and I feel many old players shun form that having their favorites (Orcs/elves, undead, whatever) or wnating to make a ne faction (not a new mixed collection).

Dragon rampant looks like very frustrating activations. Very basic. Oathmark has a little more too it. Best rank and flank system is A song of Ice and fire by Cmon. The NCU board is a fantastic thing. The card play will turn some players off though. An it's not a game where you can deploy any minis you like.
