Aaron, you & I share an interesting little tid-bit in life. Like yourself, I LOVE to listen to gears spinning. I could do it for hours & probably did as a boy. So I want to thank you (jeez, I do a lot of that) for taking time during filming to hold a transmission or gearbox close to your mic & giving me a chance to listen. Carefully. What we hear plays so much more of a role in life and it's worth taking a minute to just listen. Aaah, the bliss.

Yayyy so exited!!! The original overkill was my favorite!!!!!! Love the choices so far, my vote is certainly the Axial portal axles all the way. Keeps a bit of throwback to the original overkill based on the axial dingo kit. That GMC topkick has always been a favorite of mine so happy to see you building with it again!!! Cool that you are bringing back Overkill. He pushed a lot of snow in your old backyard. As for the cold weather, yep its here today with windchill in the-40 range. Inside putting a 3 link front suspension in my Tamiya F350. 👍🍻

I know exactly who you got my old top kick body from in Texas. I planned on using that body for my slash 4x4. That’s why I wrote option on the tank. I outlined the back window and tank to have it cut out for easy access to the battery and off/on switch. That’s absolutely awesome that it ended up in your possession! I’m excited to see what the pro-line top kick body looks like when finished. I have two more brand new in the package if you know anyone needing one!!

Cool, Im busy as well with that same body, luckely orderd it years ago when it was still available, now streched the framerails and made new rear links and driveshaft. I left the front for what it is

It has plenty of power !! I was running 15 tooth pinion gear , dropped down to 13 to tame it down a little . I been digging on my 3 Brothers BLS -G13 servo no BEC needed plug directly into battery balance port . At 11.1 V 527 oz tor up to 14.4 V 672 oz water proof also

I noticed how much you appreciated the quality of the Vanquish transmission so I would strongly suggest you look at Vanquish axles. They offer both standard and portal axles. Durability and scale factor is amazing. 👍

Im actually really excited for this build! I mean what the original overkill turned into is cool and all but i miss the truck that brought me to the channel, I couldn’t believe it was a dually rc truck and you had it pulling trailers and pushing a snow plow I really miss that truck and i cant wait to see the new adaptation!

I made my own link on my truck, I used two lengths of 90⁰ aluminium channel screwed to a board to hold the axles at the correct wheelbase then you're free to position the chassis where it is required to then measure links out. For the links I use threaded bar until I get the lengths right then slid steel tube over to make it all tough. Steel slides over the rocks better than aluminium, less friction caused.

For my big scale truck, I got the front axle mounted up where I needed it; then built a sub frame for my rear four link. All of the links bolted to one piece that I could position anywhere on the frame to get the correct wheel base. I can remove the entire rear suspension and rear axle by undoing four bolts and disconnecting the shocks. I saw Josh over on Harley Designs posted some video of a set of portal axles Vanquish just came out with.
