Thanks! A little polishing and color should make for a cool little detail.

Valves are not chevies strong point. We dropped the head of a valve off and it kicked across the intake and started killing cylinders. That was at Kent, but it was running flat out at around 8,000 rpm. (maybe more) its a road race, sooo it didn't have an automatic. It had a magic trans,a front quickchange with Hewland gears.

You can confirm the plant by looking at the stamping on that body crossmember that is right in front of the seat. The St Louis plant code is either “STL” or “AXSTL”. It will be followed by a number, which is (I think?) a consecutive number of that body run in that model year in that plant. Something like that.

When you mentioned hiding the AC, my first thought was that you could use an electric AC compressor like they use in Tesla's... Should be able hide all control and vents under the dash.

That’s been my thoughts as well. But to be honest I haven’t looked into my options yet. I definitely want to keep all my engine accessories tight to the block and super clean looking.

Sounds like a pretty cool build already 👍 You really made a lot of good plans in advance .. That body is nearly too nice to cut up 😭 But will look super cool & classic when ready .. 😗

Thank ya. Yeah the body is really nice fortunately. It’ll save me some metal work later for sure!

Sorry I didn’t see this comment for some reason! Much appreciated. Hopefully I can get it back to its original grand look. 😁

I don't understand why you would section it. At least so little! Just don't let the frame show from the side.
@beatnikgarage21532 жыл бұрын
Planning to section it front to rear(vertically) because I like the look of them shorter is all.
@garycamara99552 жыл бұрын
@@beatnikgarage2153 thats not sectioning, thats shortening. Sectioning is the removal of a horizontal piece.
