It’s always something with this car. Thankfully the hard start issue has been resolved. Like any old car you end up playing dominos. One failure leads to the next one. That’s the joys of project car ownership. Keep on wrenchin’ boys!

Look forward to your updates. Hokey smokes I thought my 90 was worked on by a caveman. Mind you it looks like new, with really low mileage, but somebody did a tune up before the auction that sold it to the prior owner. I knew I could fix the stumble at idle. Turned out to be a vacuum leak. Plus, an oil leak at the back of the manifold that required it's removal. Oh, the joy. After that monkey stuff I checked the plugs, due to weak performance. Yup wrong plugs were installed. Plugs were for a cast iron head not aluminum! Hey, it ran with those plugs about 400 miles. The cap and rotor were replaced at the same time with Delco parts. I have been trying to stay stock. For me it's easier to fix that way. Seeing what you're going through make things a little brighter. Good to see you aren't throwing wrenches and have great helpers. Through it all I really enjoy my gutless wonder on the highway. runs like a champ now! Till the next thing comes out of nowhere HUH. CHEERS

Turns out putting the wrong fastener in a starter and walking away from it leads to headaches for the next guy…

I’ve never in my life seen an aftermarket alarm or auto start that didn’t eventually cause issues.

Lose starter wires can make it hard to start your car. That random lose wire looks like a coolant temp sensor wire. It goes on the passenger side of the engine just above the knock sensor. If it's the same as my 86 tpi firebird, It is used for the ac system and an electric cooling fan. It tells the ecu to turn on the cooling fan when the ac is on.

Thanks for that! That wire looked pretty beat up. I think the previous owner had this motor out before. I guess it was still attached when removed and ripped it up.

It's the alarm system. I had to install a positive battery quick disconnect to prevent batteries from draining out between drives.

I have a C4 corvette and as long as I omened it, If you leave it for more then 3 days the battery will be dead. And I am not the only person to say that. I've found many video's that say the same. I got a trickle charger and that fixed the problem.
