A friend of mine has a ceiling fan with two pull cords. One for a light in the center dome under the fan, and another for the fan that had four settings, off, slow, medium and high. I think he got it at B&Q.

I used to have one of those at first, but I kinda wanted the 3 blade ones that we have in the Middle East. With those types you need a specific controller.

@@MsMadLemon That's fair enough. I forgot to mention what a great job you did with the painting.

Wonderful to hear and see you again, I hope you're doing ok, missed you! Your project room is looking great. I love that you're putting in the extra effort with fan speed controls and everything else to get it just right.

That variac control has quite a sort of Wile E Coyote ACME quality to it, but in a good way that suits the DIY spirit of your experiments.

The blue paint really pops and looks lovely for the project room. I laughed when you mentioned trying a variac, possibly the nerdiest solution to motor control. lol Thank you for this video, it was nice to hear your voice this Saturday morning.

Confession time...For a while, in the old place. That variac actually was placed in the corner of the room, controlling my ceiling fan speed, I could make it turn really slowly just for the calm ambient effect of it, it was bliss...........I guess I really am a nerd lol. Thank you Corey.

I found your channel because you purchased the same case I have. The Lian-Li PC-V359! Love the Amiga content. As I grew up with a Tandy it’s nice to experience the Amiga goodness you share. Thank you.

Brilliant! Loved the fan stuff - really useful info! I have a similar crazy lighting issue - bloomin LED lighting doesnt like timers and dimmers! Project room is looking great!!!

Honestly, i've not tried a dimmer with LED lighting before, I've never thought about it. Thanks Gadget!

Hey Maddi, room looks great. With you on DIY. I hate the process of it but am always so pleased with the result and the effort is worth it. Hope you’re doing ok ❤

That blue on the wall looks great. I'm surprised you didn't keep the lovely pink, though. 😜 11:20 Always here to enjoy the "extra learning and complete faff." Great stuff, Maddi!

It's one of my favourite shades of blue. I've never been a 'barbie pink' kinda girl 😝. I've always preferred pomegranate red or ocean/aqua blues. Thanks Paul!

Hiya Maddi ☺️ I was having an ok-ish weekend but when that Patreon notification came through of new upload, well that made my day and the weekend! It’s great to see you back and you have very much been missed. The project room is really starting to take shape and those colours are great. I have to laugh as you are just making all the DIY look so easy. I need adult supervision just to hammer a nail in lol 😂 This will look amazing once it’s all up and running and l can’t wait to see how it all develops. Thank you for the video and as always, all the very best to you, Rich, that fluffy Mr. Neelix and everyone there 😌👍🏼

Hiya Jason, that is really sweet of you to say, thank you! 🙂Believe me the DIY wasn't easy, it was a pain... This is just clever editing haha. Kinda like how DIY looks when one's sat there imagining it : "I'll do this... ooo i'll make it look like that..., ooh i'll put one of those there".. And when you come to actually do it: "Where's that screw p*ssed off to?!...Why is this shelf wonky?!...Where's that drill, it was just here?!... I just painted half a wall, i'm tired, I need a 3 hour break" haha. It's a pleasure Jason, thank you again! I really need to get part 2 on the way, I wanna get it done so I can finally use it. All the best to you and Fi. I hope you have a nice weekend 🙂

For a second I thought you would carve a recess into the wall for the variac and just control the speed with that! It would have been awesome :P It makes me very happy to see you're making a space you're satisfied with. All of the effort you are putting into customizing and tweaking everything is not wasted, but invested: our mental health strongly depends on it. Much more so than the average person, I think. You did a great job so far. Watching this video made me want to start tidying up around the house and do something productive so, genuinely, thanks!
