you can adjust the hitbox for the notes and i think he did that

You don't actually have to hit the line, you just have to tap the note when it's there, if that makes sense. Basically only the note needs to reach the line, not his finger. (You can tap anywhere that isn't above.) Some people purposely hit below the line on harder charts to make some patterns easier (ex. ÅMARA Master at the end with the crosshand stuff.)
