Degraded nylon in a tiny locknut leading to weeks of work and hundreds of $$ spent. The material science and forethought required to keep nature from eating a boat is mind bending. It seems that there are no inconsequential decisions in boat construction and maintenance.

Hey Ty, It always amazes me how issues crop up when you least expect it. I feel your pain Brother. Love watching your Skills in problem solving. We full time RV and I always have to have my toolbox handy. Somedays it's like OMG Now What? Equipment never sleeps. I have had a rule for years now, "Never openly discuss money in close proximity to the things you own." They are listening, and a battle ensues as which one goes out to lunch next! Great Video, and Happy Anniversary!

Binge watching the whole series over the last 2-3 days [Nov 2024] to see what goes wrong on boats. Wow.

Great work guys, always use nickle anti-seize on stainless to stop thread binding. White nylons are imperial and blue are metric. That’s how you can spot the difference 👍🏼👍🏼🤙🏼

I'm amazed at the amount of effort you guys are putting into a boat you're going to sell. If I were in the market for a Lagoon 450 (or any boat for that matter), I'd already have purchased it from you contingent on your finishing the good work! And ... where's Syd?

You could use the fuel lines to the generator, which is no longer there, for a fuel polishing system.

It's note a rule or a given but is quite common for metric locknuts to be blue and imperial white.

I find this chnnel so very educational, instructive and informative as well as a family venture, so I am totally not understanding low sub numbers?????? Love your channel! Its the KZbin algorithm. Now if they got Syd doing some Minecraft thing with making the boat and surviving 100 days in survival mode, they would be at 1/2 million subscribers. We seem to live in a world which rewards junk, stupidity and laziness. Take Capt Sullenberger, Tom Hanks earns more money pretending to be sully, than sully has earnt in his entire life actually being Sully and being the one in the hot seat…

@@SailingDauntless it just kinda made sense considering the two tanks look different now and the amount of routine maintenance needed on boats. Cool. I actually said something someone heard. Probably been married too long to actually expect much. Lol.
